No significant disk or limb activity. 1/04/2001 2001d004 Mk4 data: 17:50 -> 22:15 No coronal activity. In the southwest, a filament near the limb begins lifting ~19:30 and continues lifting until it is ~0.15R above the limb at ~20:45, at which time it disappears. There is no evidence of a reforming filament, but there is also no evidence of a CME. (th, hg) Fountain from active region in the west at end of day. (th, hg) 1/05/2001 2001d005 Mk4 data: 17:28 -> 22:01 EPL reported at PA 55 to 70 degrees from 19:03 to 19:22 UT (mlso observers) Possible fliament eruption with two-ribbon flare near PA 70 beginning ~18:30. May be material outflow in LASCO, but it is obscured by halo CME. (th, hg) No apparent coronal activity in this region (jb) Some faint coronal material is seen going out at PA 290 at the beginning of the day. This corresponds to a large CME seen in LASCO. Post-eruption loops ~PA 270-280 near beginning of day presumably related to above CME. (th, hg) 1/06/2001 2001d006 Mk4 data: 17:39 -> 22:04 No obvious CMEs (jb). Small amount of coronal material seen lifting at PA 315 at the beginning of the observing day. (th, hg) Large, thick active prominence near PA 290 showing significant flows. (th,hg) 1/07/2001 2001d007 Mk4 data: 18:37 -> 22:08 Poor quality Mk4 data from lens cleaning. No reported activity. (mlso observers) May be a very slow CME on east equator throughout observing day. Loop/cavity still in FOV at 22:08. (jb) Small surge from near sunspot just northeast of disk center. (th, hg) 1/08/2001 2001d008 Mk4 data: 17:26 -> 22:12 No reported activity. (observers) No apparent significant disk or limb activity. MK4 signal still too faint to see any activity. (th, hg) 1/09/2001 2001d009 Mk4 data: 17:29 -> 22:02 No reported activity. No significant disk or limb activity. (th, hg) Still too faint a signal in Mk4 to see any activity. (th, hg) 1/10/2001 2001d010 Mk4 data: 18:13 -> 22:04 No activity reported by observers. No significant disk activity. Prominence in the north loops over, and may erupt. (th, hg) 1/11/2001 2001d011 Mk4 data: 17:41 -> 22:01 No activity reported by observers. Large filament in NW shows some swirling motion- looks like it may erupt soon! (th,hg) 1/12/2001 2001d012 No Mk4 data. No ACOS data. 1/13/2001 2001d013 Mk4 data: 17:48 -> 22:01 No activity reported by observers. Large swirling filament in NW going over the limb. (th,hg) 1/14/2001 2001d014 No Mk4 data. No ACOS data. 1/15/2001 2001d015 Mk4 data: 17:32 -> 22:06 Eruptive filament in NW just starting to lift off at 22:00 (end of our day). Small two-ribbon flare south of center at 19:40. (th, hg) No reported coronal activity. 1/16/2001 2001d016 Mk4 data: 17:27 -> 22:12 No apparent coronal activity. Small surging at PA 95 throughout the day (at the limb). (th,hg) 1/17/2001 2001d017 Mk4 data: 17:50 -> 22:06 No limb or disk activity. (th,hg) 1/18/2001 2001d018 Mk4 data: 17:50 -> 22:04 No apparent CMEs. Filaments in the east show some activity. (th,hg) EPL in west throughout the day. (th,hg) 1/19/2001 2001d019 Mk4 data: 17:39 -> 22:05 Faint CME at ~PA 100. (th,hg) AF in AR in east. (th,hg) Surge from a sunspot region close to center disk at 18:20 (th,hg) 1/20/2001 2001d020 Mk4 data: 17:53 -> 22:06 CME reported at PA 110 degrees at 19:28 (observers) I see first CME beginning around 18:35 over east equator (jb) 2nd CME reported at PA 90 degrees at 21:34 (observers) Large two-ribbon flare and filament eruption in east (the same AR mentioned yesterday)- I see a wave in H-alpha, but the data is jumping around, and it may be the filament material (but it's white in H-alpha). There are significant dimmings seen in EIT corresponding to this region, but hard to see a wave in EIT. Later, in this same region there is another large flare. EPL on both the east and west limbs. (th,hg) 1/21/2001 2001d021 Mk4 data: 17:44 -> 21:33 No activity reported by observers. No reported coronal activity. The same AR in east has another nice EF at 19:15 (and small two-ribbon flare). I also think I see a small wave in H-alpha and CHIP, but I'm not sure. There are dimmings in EIT, and the prominence material is easily seen in a LASCO CME. (th, hg) 1/22/2001 2001d022 Mk4 data: 18:05 -> 22:02 No activity reported by observers. No apparent coronal activity. Large AP in NW- suspended with legs. Unfortunately, there is not much data today. No significant disk activity. (th,hg) 1/23/2001 2001d023 Mk4 data: 19:30 -> 22:08 No activity reported by observers. The AP in NW has some material suspended fairly high, and it seems to get pulled down toward other material below it. No significant disk activity. (th,hg) 1/24/2001 2001d024 Mk4 data: 17:59 -> 21:59 No activity reported by observers. No significant activity of any kind. (th,hg) 1/25/2001 2001d025 Mk4 data: 19:20 -> 22:16 No activity reported by observers. No coronal activity. PA 100, ~21:00, surge or spray or AP or EP with no apparent LASCO event; from behind limb. (th, hg) ~18:00, AR near PA 260 shows either strong surging or and active or eruptive filament accompanied by some flaring; no apparent LASCO event, although this would be halo, and there is a lot of LASCO activity that could mask it. (th,hg) Prominence/filament near PA 305 showing significant pre-eruptive activity; it erupts near 01:30 next day. (th,hg) 1/26/2001 2001d026 Mk4 data: 17:38 -> 22:00 No activity reported by observers. No coronal activity, but only a handful of calibrated Mk4 images. (th,hg) Very active, long filament near PA 335 showing pronounced sloshing flows. Part of filament has disappeared by the next day, but there is no evidence in EIT for eruption (could be masked by presence of dark cavity). (th,hg) More surging near PA 100 (from behind limb), but no apparent LASCO association. (th,hg) 1/27/2001 2001d027 Mk4 data; 17:49 -> 22:02 No coronal activity- noisy Mk4 data. (th,hg) Very thin, tall prominence near PA 260, appearing to show significant draining. (th,hg) AR of 01d025 (in southeast) again showing significant flows. (th,hg) 1/28/2001 2001d028 Mk4 data: 17:57 -> 22:05 Slow CME at PA 265 starting at ~20:12. (th,hg) No significant disk or limb activity. (th,hg) 1/29/2001 2001d029 Mk4 data: 17:26 -> 22:02 No visible coronal acitvity, but very bright sky conditions. (th,hg) No significant disk or limb activity. (th,hg) 1/30/2001 2001d030 Mk4 data: 17:31 -> 22:00 No coronal activity, but very short Mk4 day, and bright sky conditions. (th,hg) Post eruption loops in the northeast following a relatively narrow LASCO CME. (th,hg) Faint, but broad and complex downflow in a prominence. If there had been a CME, this might be interpretable as broad, complex post-eruption loops, because there is no obvious significant original source for the material. (th,hg) Relatively small-scale sloshing in a filament near disk center. (th,hg) 1/31/2001 2001d031 Mk4 data: 17:38 -> 21:28 No good Mk4 data. No significant disk or limb activity. 2/01/2001 2001d032 Mk4 data: 17:35 -> 22:12 Bad Mk4 data- only a couple of images were calibrated. No significant disk or limb activity. 2/02/2001 2001d033 Mk4 data: 17:27 -> 22:03 Nice loop/cavity/core structured CME at PA 70 starting at ~18:50. Apparent filament eruption followed by two-ribbon flare from active region near limb corresponding to Mk4 CME. Also corresponding LASCO CME. 2/03/2001 2001d034 Mk4 data: 17:20 -> 22:03 No coronal activity. No significant disk or limb activity. 2/04/2001 2001d035 Mk4 data: 17:45 -> 21:59 Two-ribbon flares in active regions in both the northeast and the northwest near the beginning of the day. Northeast activity may be associated with a LASCO CME appearing about twenty minutes before the flaring. Northwest flaring may be associated with a very faint LASCO CME. 2/05/2001 2001d036 Mk4 data: 17:33 -> 22:03 No coronal activity. No significant disk or limb activity. 2/06/2001 2001d037 Mk4 data: 17:30 -> 22:13 No coronal activity. No significant disk or limb activity. 2/07/2001 2001d038 Mk4 data: 17:35 -> 22:10 Bad Mk4 data. Eruptive prominence in the southeast with associated LASCO CME. 2/08/2001 2001d039 No MK4 data. Only about 25 minutes of limb and disk data. Nothing significant. 2/09/2001 2001d040 No MK4 data. 2/10/2001 2001d041 No MK4 data. 2/11/2001 2001d042 No MK4 data. 2/12/2001 2001d043 No MK4 data. 2/13/2001 2001d044 No MK4 data. 2/14/2001 2001d045 No MK4 data. 2/15/2001 2001d046 No Mk4 data taken at MLSO today. 2/16/2001 2001d047 No MK4 data. 2/17/2001 2001d048 Mk4 data: 17:43 -> 22:03 No coronal activity. No significant disk or limb activity. 2/18/2001 2001d049 Mk4 data: 17:40 -> 20:57 No significant disk or limb activity. 2/19/2001 2001d050 Mk4 data: 17:17 -> 21:57 No coronal activity. Very tall, mildly active prominence in northwest. 2/20/2001 2001d051 Mk4 data: 17:49 -> 18:46 Short observing day, but it looks like a CME might already be in progress in the NW at the beginning of our day. Tall prominence from day before is gone. Probably erupted with above CME, which was observed by LASCO. Very cloudy, short observing day. 2/21/2001 2001d052 Mk4 data: 18:00 -> 22:02 No coronal activity. No significant disk or limb activity. 2/22/2001 2001d053 Mk4 data: 17:25 -> 22:07 No coronal activity. No significant disk or limb activity. 2/23/2001 2001d054 Mk4 data: 17:14 -> 19:28 No coronal activity, but short observing day! No significant disk or limb activity. 2/24/2001 2001d055 Mk4 data: 17:42 -> 22:08 No coronal activity. Filament eruption east of north ~1900. No apparent LASCO association. 2/25/2001 2001d056 No MK4 data. 2/26/2001 2001d057 Mk4 data: 21:48 -> 22:10 Only a few Mk4 images- no observable coronal activity! Very cloudy day, but erupting prominence (southwest) in progress at beginning of observing day. Corresponds to relatively slow LASCO CME. 2/27/2001 2001d058 Mk4 data: 17:14 -> 22:03 No coronal activity. No significant disk or limb activity. 2/28/2001 2001d059 Mk4 data: 17:36 -> 22:07 CME at PA 160 starting at ~19:45. Eruptive prominence from near the same location (from behind the limb), beginning just before 20:00. Corresponds to LASCO CME as well. 3/01/2001 2001d060 Mk4 data: 17:22 -> 22:07 No coronal activity. Small surge on disk in SW starting at ~18:15. No significant limb activity. 3/02/2001 2001d061 Mk4 data: 17:14 -> 22:08 No coronal activity. No significant disk. AP in SW that drains to the surface throughout the day. 3/03/2001 2001d062 Mk4 data: 17:32 -> 22:02 No coronal activity- some bad Mk4 images in middle of day. No disk or limb activity. 3/04/2001 2001d063 Mk4 data: 17:41 -> 22:06 No coronal activity. Surge of material (northward) near west limb, but no associated CME. 3/05/2001 2001d064 Mk4 data: 17:06 -> 22:04 Fairly small CME (~20 degrees wide) at PA 255 starting at ~19:40. Prom. surge associated with the above CME- can't tell if prom. material escapes. 3/06/2001 2001d065 Mk4 data: 18:27 -> 21:58 No coronal activity. No disk activity. AP in SW. 3/07/2001 2001d066 Mk4 data: 17:20 -> 22:04 Prom. eruption and CME seen in Mk4 at PA 45 starting at ~19:15- this CME in LASCO is fairly narrow. The above involves a nice, large filament eruption in which all of the material seems to disappear from the disk. There is another erupting prom. just south (behind the limb) that occurs shortly after the first eruption. This actually turns out to be a failed prominence eruption associated with a narrow CME. 3/08/2001 2001d067 No MK4 data. Pretty cloudy. Post-eruption loops in northwest. 3/09/2001 2001d068 No MK4 data. 3/10/2001 2001d069 No MK4 data. Cloudy day; no significant disk or limb activity visible. 3/11/2001 2001d070 Mk4 data: 17:29 -> 22:11 Faint CME at PA 260 starting at ~17:50. No disk or signature of CME. Surging in east and northwest from active regions near the limb. 3/12/2001 2001d071 Mk4 data: 17:07 -> 22:00 There appear to be 3 CMEs- one at PA 100 and another at PA 230 (both going out at ~17:30), and the third one at PA 120 starting at 18:40. The first two going at the same time might be the same halo event, but there is no evidence in EIT of a front side event, so it is difficult to determine. Disk and limb data indicate the halo was backside, but erupting prominence corresponds to CME at PA 230. 3/13/2001 2001d072 Mk4 data: 17:03 -> 21:22 No coronal activity. No significant disk or limb activity. 3/14/2001 2001d073 Mk4 data: 17:39 -> 21:51 No coronal activity, but a lot of Mk4 images did not get calibrated. No significant disk or limb activity. 3/15/2001 2001d074 Mk4 data: 17:22 -> 22:02 No coronal activity. Erupting filament and 2-ribbon flare just northwest of disk center, ~21:00. LASCO halo begins about 90 minutes later. 3/16/2001 2001d075 Mk4 data: 17:03 -> 22:00 No coronal activity. No significant disk or limb activity. 3/17/2001 2001d076 Mk4 data: 17:21 -> 21:04 CME at ~PA 110 starting at ~18:30. Calibration problems with Mk4. Large active prominence in the northwest. 3/18/2001 2001d077 Mk4 data: 17:23 -> 22:00 No visible coronal activity, but only some Mk4 data got calibrated. No significant disk or limb activity. 3/19/2001 2001d078 Mk4 data: 16:55 -> 22:06 CME at PA 260 starting at ~17:30. Eruptive prominence at PA 250 beginning about 17:45; corresponds to Mk4 CME and fast LASCO CME. 3/20/2001 2001d079 Mk4 data: 17:07 -> 21:22 Bad Mk4 data- something has happened in the calibration process. Possible eruptive prominence just north of west beginning about 17:30. Corresponds to LASCO CME. Flaring and cool material ejection (order not clear) from active region in west near limb, beginning about 21:00. Corresponds to slow LASCO CME with clear loop/cavity/core. 3/21/2001 2001d080 Mk4 data: 17:23 -> 17:26 Only 2 Mk4 images- no activity visible. Prominence eruption just south of east, beginning about 20:00. Corresponds to LASCO CME. 3/22/2001 2001d081 Mk4 data: 17:23 -> 22:00 No coronal activity- a lot of Mk4 data did not get calibrated. Surging along long closed loops in northeast. 3/23/2001 2001d082 Mk4 data: 17:04 -> 21:58 Some coronal material is going out at PA 270 at ~19:30. Some Mk4 images did not get calibrated. No significant disk or limb activity. 3/24/2001 2001d083 Mk4 data: 17:18 -> 21:07 Mk4 sees material moving out in the east and NW, which seems to be part of a halo CME in LASCO. Mk4 calibrated data is noisy. Filament eruption and 2-ribbon flare about 0.5 R northeast of disk center ~19:40. Corresponds to LASCO CME in northeast. 3/25/2001 2001d084 Mk4 data: 18:07 -> 20:04 No coronal activity- calibration problems with Mk4. Very cloudy, short observing day. No significant disk or limb activity. 3/26/2001 2001d085 Mk4 data: 16:53 -> 21:03 No coronal activity. Modest flaring throughout northern active belt, but no apparent eruption. 3/27/2001 2001d086 No Mk4 data taken at MLSO today. 3/28/2001 2001d087 Mk4 data: 17:31 -> 21:27 CME at PA 150 starting at ~18:00. No significant disk or limb activity. 3/29/2001 2001d088 Mk4 data: 17:37 -> 21:15 No coronal activity- only 20 good Mk4 images. No significant disk or limb activity. 3/30/2001 2001d089 Mk4 data: 17:27 -> 21:50 No coronal activity- noisy Mk4 data. No good limb or disk images. 4/03/2001 2001d093 Mk4 data: 16:58 -> 17:49 Bad Mk4 data. Very cloudy day, but large eruptive filament in northeast begins lifting off after 17:00. Substantial flaring following eruption. 4/04/2001 2001d094 Mk4 data: 17:20 -> 22:04 Narrow CME at ~PA 300 starting at the beginning or our observing day (hard to see in Mk4). Active filament in the PA 300 vicinity near the limb. A possible eruption occurs beginning about 19:30. 4/05/2001 2001d095 Mk4 data: 17:22 -> 22:19 Slow CME at PA 125 from ~17:20-20:40. Material is also seen going out from a large CME in the east that occurs right before we start observing. Flaring in active region near PA 120 at beginning of day; corresponds to Mk4 and LASCO CMEs. Strong surging/eruption near PA 300, corresponding to previous day's active/eruptive filament. 4/06/2001 2001d096 Mk4 data: 16:45 -> 21:46 Wide CME centered at ~PA 120 starting at the beginning of the day. This CME may be associated with strong flaring in an active region in the southeast, although the CHIP data for today is not good enough to confirm an eruption. 4/07/2001 2001d097 Mk4 data: 17:24 -> 21:37 CME at PA 270 (starts just before we start observing). Post eruption loops associated with this CME visible in Halpha. Surging in the northwest and the east. 4/08/2001 2001d098 Mk4 data: 17:31 -> 20:27 No coronal activity. Possible filament eruption with flaring from active region south of disk center near 18:00. 4/22/2001 2001d112 Mk4 data: 17:01 -> 21:32 No coronal activity. Erupting filament in west starting at ~17:10. Large flare and an erupting filament in AR in NE with a possible wave propagating NW. Surge or rising prominence on the limb at PA 245 at 18:57. 4/23/2001 2001d113 Mk4 data: 16:46 -> 22:04 CME at PA 250 starting at ~16:45. A lot of prominence material is seen escaping. Huge EP associated with the CME- looks helical and shows some twisting motion in the velocity data. Almost the entire prominence escapes. Spider prominence in NE at ~PA 60-70 (drains throughout the day). Flaring in the AR in NE. 4/24/2001 2001d114 Mk4 data: 01:12 -> 20:52 No coronal activity- mostly bad Mk4 data. Small EF and two-ribbon flare in NE at 21:30. More flaring in AR just north of center disk, and large brightening (in H-alpha) seen to the west of this AR (maybe a wave?) 4/25/2001 2001d115 Mk4 data: 16:58 -> 17:43 No coronal activity- not much Mk4 data. No disk activity. Bad H-alpha limb data, but an AP at PA 110 is seen in the CHIP velocity data (swirling motion?). 4/26/2001 2001d116 No MK4 data. Cloudy day, but there is some PICS and CHIP data. No visible disk or limb activity. 4/27/2001 2001d117 No MK4 data.
