LOW-L COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 16:45:18 GMT 1996 Unit 0 taking data, L00380 in unit 1 wasn't popped. Ejecting manually and loading L00382. Data writing to L00381 in unit O. Reset bench angle and made the switch. MKIII COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 17:31:13 GMT 1996 I still see the streaking that Alice mentioned. Going looking for it. Initially, I will leave the MKIII scanning to check for any rotation/gravity effects. MKIII COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 17:48:34 GMT 1996 INitial check of cabling revealed nothing obviously loose. Tried wiggling and tapping but I still see streaking on vmap image. Sun Apr 7 18:00:06 GMT 1996: Calibration MKIII COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 18:00:43 GMT 1996 MKIII time was one hour off. Corrected it. MKIII COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 18:08:55 GMT 1996 Tried 1TAKES with chan 1. Streaking not apparent in chan 1. This is a chan 0 problem, eliminating the suspicion of a half-wave plate problem (PHEW!). MKIII COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 18:26:01 GMT 1996 Reseated 0 chan preamp. Signal is hosed. Stopping again and rechecking. Sun Apr 7 19:00:00 GMT 1996: Calibration MKIII COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 19:20:33 GMT 1996 hosed signal may be due to all 0s in corrector table. Not sure why that occurred. MKIII COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 19:23:36 GMT 1996 While trying to determine why the signal got hosed, I checked A and B balance and offset in preamp. They were close. I touched up the offset a hair. Sun Apr 7 20:00:02 GMT 1996: Calibration MKIII COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 20:06:48 GMT 1996 CORRECT behaving strange. LIGHT correct signal high and GAIN correct signal low. Tried swapping channels at line driver and low gain situation appears to occur before line driver. COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 20:26:02 GMT 1996 reconfigured dome slot while swapping optical chan 2 preamp with optical chan 4 preamp. COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 20:54:52 GMT 1996 Darryl just requested tomorrow and possibly Tuesday vacation. I can't cover tomorrow but may be able to rearrange things to cover Tuesday. MKIII COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 20:59:42 GMT 1996 Preamp from op4 not working, tried op5 preamp and got a signal. Will try CORRECT with that preamp. Sun Apr 7 21:03:02 GMT 1996: Calibration MKIII COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 21:37:13 GMT 1996 Looked like alignment was way off. Put in mask and unable to see height slots. 3l MKIII COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 21:59:11 GMT 1996 OK, That whole chinese firedrill was caused when the shutters for the detectors got partially closed, then almost fully closed while jockeying the LEMO connectors from the detectors to the preamp. Opened them up and got my signal back. Running corrections. Need to do them this month anyway. Sun Apr 7 22:02:57 GMT 1996: Calibration MKIII COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 22:32:08 GMT 1996 Well..... sky is too noisy to tell if I got rid of the streaking with all of the plugging and unplugging, corrections, sweating, worrying, etc. that I did this morning. Most of the streaks look like bug (barberpole) streaks, though so that is encouraging. COMMENT: Sun Apr 7 22:36:43 GMT 1996 Guider declination reset or glitch. repointed.
