I'd like to find assembly drawings for the pump housing or at least talk to Lytron Tech Support before taking that housing off and apart, so I know what I'm getting into and can minimize PSPT down-time. It might be better to order parts like seals before I take things apart further. MKIV COMMENT: Sun Oct 29 17:12:51 GMT 2000 Mercury was supposed to be in the FOV at 1700 UT today, the telescope still hasn't cleared the bottom of the dome slot so it is difficult to see even the corona, I haven't seen Mercury yet. A NEW TAPE HAS BEEN PUT INTO KAIEE DLT DRIVE, Sun Oct 29 17:42:13 GMT 2000 WEATHER COMMENT: Sun Oct 29 17:43:51 GMT 2000 Clouds have cleared for now. **PSPT PROBLEM**: Sun Oct 29 17:52:45 GMT 2000 Leak drips about 1 drop/minute. Telescope pointed incorrectly, doing a guider ephemeris calibration and will try to restart. Sun Oct 29 18:02:33 GMT 2000 PICS Flat Sun Oct 29 18:06:15 GMT 2000 PICS End Flat **PSPT PROBLEM**: Sun Oct 29 18:47:35 GMT 2000 Talked to Lytron Technical Support, they agree there is probably a seal leak on the pump and that it isn't worth trying to replace the seal. They have new pumps in stock for $178, this may be a good time to try running PSPT camera without coolant as proposed earlier, else we get a new pump and R+R old one. I'll email information to those involved with this decision. WEATHER COMMENT: Sun Oct 29 19:22:23 GMT 2000 Orographic clouds are moving in. It works much better, easier to turn knob and easier to open and close. WEATHER COMMENT: Sun Oct 29 20:38:54 GMT 2000 Clouds getting thicker, Spar not tracking, pausing instruments.
