I stopped the Patrol first then typed dv into the xterm window which then gave me a camera control interface. I couldn't get the shutter to "lock open" for some reason that command didn't work right, but I did set it to open for about 10 seconds at a time which worked fine. I could see some dust specks and they were difficult to remove but I used the air blower first then the vaccuum to hopefully remove those pesky particles from the camera for good. With the Halle filter in place throughout the whole cleaning and testing procedure, I set the occulting wheel to Dark while I cleaned the CCD and to Clear with an exposure of 32 ms while I looked for dust on the CCD. I avoided using the air blower or vaccuum around the time of the shutter closing and reopening every 10 seconds, easy to do. I had to reboot Nene after I was through, that will pickup the correct camera settings from the startup script. Sat Jul 20 21:56:17 GMT 2002 PICS Start Patrol **PICS PROBLEM**: Sat Jul 20 22:01:41 GMT 2002 The instrument is running again and the first disk image looks very clean, in fact about 4 artifacts that were thought to be bad pixels also have disappeared as well as at least 5 dark dust specks including that big one that appeared recently in the South. Compare images taken at 2048 and 2156 UT. Sat Jul 20 22:21:24 GMT 2002 CHIP End Patrol Sat Jul 20 22:24:34 GMT 2002 PICS End Patrol **PSPT PROBLEM**: Sat Jul 20 22:42:11 GMT 2002 Shutdown program wouldn't park the dome, the PC screen show positional info that implies the dome is moving but it wasn't. I pressed Enter on the PC and the rest of the shutdown sequence continued, I'll send the dome to the stow position with the command "dome goto 7000".
