----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mauna Loa Solar Observatory Observer's Log ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wed Feb 16 17:43:36 GMT 2011 Year: 11 Doy: 047 Observer: koon WEATHER COMMENT: Wed Feb 16 17:43:37 GMT 2011 Thick cirrostratus overcast, wind=25+ mph from the SSE, temp=38F. ___end___ NOTE BY DARRYL: Wed Feb 16 17:46:41 GMT 2011 No obs until clouds thin out. ___end___ WEATHER COMMENT: Wed Feb 16 23:59:47 GMT 2011 Still have a thick cirrostratus overcast and high winds. ___end___ NOTE BY DARRYL: Thu Feb 17 00:00:15 GMT 2011 HVO network prep work continued today but switchover will occur on another day. I have it setup here so that we just need to swap labelled cables, HVO has 2 cables at the network switdh that will move to the new switch, a new GONG fiber optic patch cable is plugged into a new GBIC module which is plugged into the new switch - so the other end of that cable needs to swap for the Red and Black FO cables at the white junction box behind the CoMP monitor, the free ends of the new patch cable are already there hanging on the ends of the old patch cable, that old patch cable can be removed and set aside. GONG won't be ready until next week at the earliest but HVO could be ready tomorrow, if I'm not at MLSO for the best switchover dates then I'll coordinate things between all involved. ___end___ Thu Feb 17 00:11:56 GMT 2011 MkIV
