Gave a tour to an Austrailian highschool group. Then Matt, Mac, Scott, and Chris came up for building inspection. Matt has a much better idea what the site is like and how things happen here. Scott should be returning in 2(ish) weeks for some more inspections/measuremnets where they make start doing some destructive work in the control room ceiling to understand how the roof is constructed. We talked a bit about dome work. It sounds like the plan that will be put forward is for HAO staff to remove senstitve equipment pin then pin the spar verticl. At which time a contractor will build a 2x4/plywood box around spar/instruments. Then HAO staff would be restricted from entering the dome; during construction/asbestos mitigation walls and floor. Concurrently with asbestos work the new dome would be built and then replaced before the spar's box is removed. This 2ish week period would likely be the only major loss of observing time during the work. For the downstairs/pspt area work; the plan will likely involve doing the room in stages so we dont need to remove all the the equipment; and depending on the job observing in the morning then letting the contractors work in the afternoon. ___end___ Tue Mar 25 00:14:38 GMT 2014 COMP Start Patrol Tue Mar 25 00:17:05 GMT 2014 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol Tue Mar 25 00:17:46 GMT 2014 KCOR End Patrol GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY berkey: Tue Mar 25 00:18:12 GMT 2014 Sucker hole ___end___ Tue Mar 25 00:31:32 GMT 2014 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol Tue Mar 25 00:31:55 GMT 2014 KCOR End Patrol Tue Mar 25 00:31:40 GMT 2014 COMP End Patrol Tue Mar 25 01:13:55 GMT 2014: PSPT Start Patrol Tue Mar 25 01:48:36 GMT 2014: PSPT Abort Patrol Tue Mar 25 01:48:40 GMT 2014: PSPT Abort Patrol GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY berkey: Tue Mar 25 01:58:29 GMT 2014 Fog just west of the lava berm ___end___
