It seems like the first (sunside) o-ring has swollen or otherwise wedged itself in place. Typically the occulter is barely held on by the o-ring and can easily be shaken off the post. Today even after removing the reflective cone and pushing down directly on the top of the occulter, I was not able to move it. For now occulter #31 has been reinstalled in CoMP and the observign code value has been put back to #31. ___end___ Mon Apr 28 19:23:29 GMT 2014 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol Mon Apr 28 19:24:29 GMT 2014 COMP Start Patrol Mon Apr 28 19:26:02 GMT 2014 KCOR End Patrol Mon Apr 28 19:28:45 GMT 2014 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol Mon Apr 28 19:30:24 GMT 2014 KCOR End Patrol Mon Apr 28 19:31:27 GMT 2014 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol Mon Apr 28 19:59:02 GMT 2014 KCOR End Patrol Mon Apr 28 20:01:07 GMT 2014 COMP End Patrol GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Mon Apr 28 20:01:36 GMT 2014 Cirrus has rolled in, Comp, Shabar and Kcor idled. ___end___ Mon Apr 28 20:07:56 GMT 2014 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol Mon Apr 28 20:08:42 GMT 2014 COMP Start Patrol GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Mon Apr 28 20:08:59 GMT 2014 Started up instruments. ___end___ Mon Apr 28 20:21:23 GMT 2014 KCOR End Patrol Mon Apr 28 20:21:44 GMT 2014 COMP End Patrol GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Mon Apr 28 20:28:53 GMT 2014 Moved shutter down and while it's down, we will attempt another try at removing and replacing the occulter for Comp. ___end___ Mon Apr 28 20:34:40 GMT 2014 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol CoMP COMMENT BY berkey: Mon Apr 28 21:00:05 GMT 2014 Occulter 31 was removed but applying a bit more force. Occulter 27 is installed and observing code has been updated. It looks like we were using a black o-ring under the occulter, from what I can remeber this is the first time we used teh black one instead of the red/orange ones. From now on we should make sure to only use the red/orange o-rings since they seem to work better. ___end___ Mon Apr 28 21:04:19 GMT 2014 COMP Start Patrol Mon Apr 28 21:36:48 GMT 2014 KCOR End Patrol Mon Apr 28 21:37:21 GMT 2014 COMP End Patrol Mon Apr 28 21:46:21 GMT 2014: PSPT Abort Patrol Tue Apr 29 01:25:51 GMT 2014: PSPT Start Patrol GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Tue Apr 29 01:27:23 GMT 2014 Starting up Pspt. ___end___ Tue Apr 29 02:13:19 GMT 2014: PSPT Abort Patrol Tue Apr 29 02:13:23 GMT 2014: PSPT Abort Patrol GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Tue Apr 29 02:24:31 GMT 2014 I had a bit of trouble with the Nitrogen tank. Was only able to get a little bit to fill the dewar but the tank reads only a little less than half. Maybe too much out gasing? ___end___
