----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mauna Loa Solar Observatory Observer's Log ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sun Mar 25 16:28:48 GMT 2018 Year: 18 Doy: 084 Observer: waters WEATHER COMMENT: waters: Sun Mar 25 16:36:53 GMT 2018 Temp 40F with windspeed at about 10-15mph from the Southwest. Overcast at present, snow line looks to be above 12,000ft. Waiting for better conditions before opening up. ___end___ GONG COMMENT BY waters: Sun Mar 25 21:06:17 GMT 2018 Went down to the GONG shelter and unstowed the turret. Had a bit of a problem with the enable lights on the PITCH and ROLL, as they were on before I started to unstow the turret, with the rockers in the off position. Followed the help prompt and it seems to be up and running, but hard to tell when it's cloudy out. Also, the storage house had water come in from, what it looks like, under the door and soaked some cardboard boxes. I moved what I could off the ground but will wait on moving the others until a second pair of hands is available to see if anything was demage by the water. ___end___ GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Mon Mar 26 01:55:10 GMT 2018 Unfortunately, the weather didn't clear up enough to run the instruments but it did clear up a bit. See blue sky on the West-Northwest horizon, so hoping tomorrows' weather will be good. ___end___ ONSITE STAFF: waters
