Looks like there is a very faint film covering the sky, with a few bands of cirrus on the horizons. Otherwise, the sky is clear. ___end___ Tue Jun 05 16:49:13 GMT 2018 SGS Alignment complete Tue Jun 05 16:50:07 GMT 2018 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited Tue Jun 05 16:53:49 GMT 2018 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol GENERAL COMMENT BY waters: Tue Jun 05 17:20:41 GMT 2018 PM Blew off Kcor O1 before start up ___end___ Tue Jun 05 17:21:10 GMT 2018 KCOR End Patrol GENERAL COMMENT BY waters: Tue Jun 05 17:21:40 GMT 2018 Cirrus passing, kcor idled. ___end___ Tue Jun 05 17:24:11 GMT 2018 Kcor sees an SGS Guiding Error closing lens cover Tue Jun 05 17:24:13 GMT 2018 KCOR End Patrol Tue Jun 05 17:29:29 GMT 2018 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol KCOR COMMENT BY waters: Tue Jun 05 17:40:35 GMT 2018 Had a little bit of a hic up with the Kcor lens cover; for some reason, after I hit the button, it froze. I ran up stairs and moved the spar out of the Suns' path and then checked the front of Kcor; the lens cover had not moved. Came down and stopped SGS from guiding. It was still stuck on the initialization of closing the lens. About 15 seconds later, the SGS guiding error popped up saying that it is closing the lens cover. Once we hit okay, it started closing (went upstairs to verify). Not enterially sure what happened as this is the first time Allen and I have encountered this. Side note, we've had the SGS guiding error come up after we had hit the close lens cover running already and it was fine. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY waters: Tue Jun 05 17:43:00 GMT 2018 CME detection program is not seeing the FITs file in the srchive drive again. Restarted it and it did not help. ___end___ Tue Jun 05 18:21:31 GMT 2018 SGS Alignment complete Tue Jun 05 18:46:56 GMT 2018 KCOR End Patrol GENERAL COMMENT BY waters: Tue Jun 05 18:54:34 GMT 2018 Cirrus passing, KCOR idled. ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY waters: Tue Jun 05 18:59:02 GMT 2018 Had the same hiccup again with the Kcor lens cover; moved the spar out of the Suns' path and moved the dome. However, this time it closed partially before it froze and the SGS guiding error did not come up. Had Allen take the lens out and then back in, which worked fine. It moved the lens cover out of the beam fully and then moved it back in beam fully. Restarting the K-Cor computer to see if it might be a software/labview issue. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY waters: Tue Jun 05 19:08:01 GMT 2018 Dec just spiked at 9:06am hst. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY waters: Tue Jun 05 19:08:32 GMT 2018 Sky is too bright at the moment, waiting for it to clear a bit before starting K-Cor again. ___end___ Tue Jun 05 19:12:36 GMT 2018 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited Tue Jun 05 19:15:05 GMT 2018 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol Tue Jun 05 19:34:55 GMT 2018 SGS Alignment complete GENERAL COMMENT BY waters: Tue Jun 05 20:48:50 GMT 2018 Did a meidian filp for shabar. ___end___ Tue Jun 05 22:53:45 GMT 2018 SGS Alignment complete GENERAL COMMENT BY waters: Tue Jun 05 23:05:37 GMT 2018 Moved the dome. ___end___ ****EVENT COMMENT BY waters**** : Tue Jun 05 23:46:38 GMT 2018 At PA 290, at about 22:20 UT, it looks like a slit is starting to open. It's really hard to tell, with how bright the region is and the aerosols in the air. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY stueben: Wed Jun 06 02:29:10 GMT 2018 Beautiful day. A few wisps of cirrus in the morning but otherwise clear all day. Fair seeing and some aerosols all day. ___end___ ONSITE STAFF: stueben, waters
