I assume this is a faint cirrus signal; but it seems very odd pattern is farily static and I hvae never seen cirrus give us a weak signal while still noticing structure in the images. ___end___ Fri Jun 15 17:15:55 GMT 2018 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol KCOR COMMENT BY berkey: Fri Jun 15 17:23:14 GMT 2018 Looks like it was cirrus; since it slowed cleared up. ___end___ Fri Jun 15 17:32:35 GMT 2018 KCOR End Patrol KCOR COMMENT BY berkey: Sat Jun 16 01:20:32 GMT 2018 Changed out the kcor lyot styp for 35mm stop (30mm removed). Exposure time set to 2.5ms. There is some concernt that hte 30mm stop may be induicng the sharp lines that appear to be radiating out of the East limb in the kcor image. Inspection of the inner ring of the stop under the loop shows many small defects (these were not diamond turned) with the largests about 20 degrees south of due west when looking down from the sun. The big defect just at the edge of what I can see by eye and I am unable to measure its size. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY berkey: Sat Jun 16 01:43:49 GMT 2018 Shabar moved back up on the spar. It was plugged in and tested with the dome closed; so hopefully this means it will be trouble free on sky. With the instrument back in the building the shabar code will be run on the logging/shabar laptop again. So there is no longer a need to make a remote connect to the other laptop (which his now off). Just run the shabar.exe on the desktop. Shabar data should just copy over from this computer; but we should check kodiak next week to be sure. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY berkey: Sat Jun 16 01:46:33 GMT 2018 Dome rotation sensor was moved back up on to shabar. An attempt was made to get a good alignment of the sensor but with out sunlight the system remains untested. Some care was taken to make sure that the shabar and dome sensor cables were outside the field of view of the guider; but as this was not checked on sky we hsould watch the DIM mean over the next couple days to make sure that it stays high (when guiding on clear skies) And double check the cables if it falls below 7 or V. ___end___ ONSITE STAFF: berkey
