For all these structures (dots and line), I first stated tring to wash the o1 with soap and water but with multiple applications no change was found. Ratcheting up the area was flushed with isopropoal alchoal, following by soap and water flushes. Again no change. Finally the area was dabbd with a small amount of acetene. Followew by a soap and heavy heavy flush of water. Again no changes to these structures. Midigation effots were ended at this point; before doing a normal kind of soap and water flush of the whole lens to prepare for observing again. ___end___ Mon Mar 09 20:08:26 GMT 2020 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol Mon Mar 09 20:09:11 GMT 2020 KCOR End Patrol GENERAL COMMENT BY berkey: Mon Mar 09 20:13:54 GMT 2020 PM Blew off Kcor O1 ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY berkey: Mon Mar 09 20:32:45 GMT 2020 PM Blew off Kcor O1 font and back ___end___ Mon Mar 09 20:34:50 GMT 2020 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited Mon Mar 09 20:34:55 GMT 2020 SGS Alignment complete GENERAL COMMENT BY berkey: Mon Mar 09 20:48:12 GMT 2020 PM Blew off Kcor O1 ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY berkey: Mon Mar 09 21:31:36 GMT 2020 PM Washed Kcor O1 ___end___ Mon Mar 09 21:38:26 GMT 2020 SGS Alignment complete Mon Mar 09 21:38:27 GMT 2020 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited GPS COMMENT by MLSO: Mon Mar 09 21:45:07 GMT 2020 Successfully logged in to system Good disk mount GPS software running Last 5 GPS data files are: dataoutiq_2020_064_2145.bin 2147483647 dataoutiq_2020_065_2145.bin 2147483647 dataoutiq_2020_066_2145.bin 2147483647 dataoutiq_2020_067_2145.bin 2147483647 dataoutiq_2020_068_2145.bin 2147483647 ___end___ Mon Mar 09 22:03:49 GMT 2020 Kcor Focus/alignment program exited GENERAL COMMENT BY berkey: Mon Mar 09 22:09:38 GMT 2020 Sky seems petty noisy due to aerosols ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY berkey: Mon Mar 09 22:20:49 GMT 2020 Big fringes since last cleaning. I had an issue with the O-ring dam around the mount. It didn't stay inplace. I think I didnt let the material dry long enough, and part way thru the application of the material to the middle o the lens the o-ring lifted off and knid of curled up in a few places effectivity given us no dam there; espically since the spary on formula seemed thin with a lot of the material running toward the edges. On removable of the material I found that some first contact had flowed past the oring for most of the lenses outer diameter. This lead to some resiutal material getting left behind in most places around the lens mount. Some of this material on the outer edge also remained attached to the glass. Since the matieral on the glass all seemed to be under the apature stop, I decided to leave it in place; as I feel any midigation would leave some residue on the lens. Ignoring the edge effects (under the apature stop), this application of first contact seemed to peel off the lens better than any other test I have done with FP. Interestingly on initial visial inspection the lens (front and bad) appeared to be dirty/dustier then I ever rememeber seeing a corona graph lens, but all of this dust easily blew off. (So sounds like I need to were a lab coat while carring/installing the lens.) Skies are have enough aerosols this afternoon, that I am having a had time evaluation the image quality; but it sems like the fringe pattern we say before 23UT seem to be gone and I dont notice any other new glaring artifacts. ___end___ GENERAL COMMENT BY berkey: Tue Mar 10 03:54:49 GMT 2020 Skies have improved over the last couple hours, I think the first contact did a good job of cleaning. ___end___ ONSITE STAFF: berkey
