Fri Mar 24 18:01:55 GMT 1995: Calibration

MKIII COMMENT: Fri Mar 24 18:34:03 GMT 1995
I've done some regular scans earlier and just completed the calibrations for
today. Next I will do an Artifact Scan Test as requested by Kim, as soon as
the dark scan part of the calibration is finished. The next 6 scans will
be centered at a position that is 30 degrees from the regular position.
I will use the FORTH command: 30 368 SECTOR

MKIII COMMENT: Fri Mar 24 18:46:13 GMT 1995
First of the offset scans starts at 18:42:09

Fri Mar 24 19:02:04 GMT 1995: Calibration

MKIII COMMENT: Fri Mar 24 19:05:34 GMT 1995
Last offset scan started at 19:01:17, I've switched back to the regular
setup with the command: 0 368 SECTOR

COMMENT: Fri Mar 24 20:17:55 GMT 1995
Hi Darryl,
I'm logged on from sonora@noao.edu.
Looks like the artifact scan test went without a hitch,
good work!

WEATHER COMMENT: Fri Mar 24 20:42:53 GMT 1995
Clouds are starting to come up from the east and pass overhead.

Fri Mar 24 21:02:00 GMT 1995: Calibration
Fri Mar 24 21:04:06 GMT 1995: Patrol End
Fri Mar 24 21:04:06 GMT 1995
Clouds getting worse, shutting down.

MKIII COMMENT: Fri Mar 24 22:35:20 GMT 1995
I got everything ready for the offset O1 scan test tomorrow. I couldn't get
O1 to rotate using the hand paddle although the stepper motor was apparently
energizing and trying to move, maybe too much friction in the drive or
encoder geartrains since we never use them. I can rotate the O1 assembly
by hand if the stepper motor isn't energized, so I can do the test.

COMMENT: Fri Mar 24 22:39:10 GMT 1995
I will put todays MKIII data tape in the akala drive for further testing
of Alice's program.
