CHIP COMMENT: Wed May 28 20:47:39 GMT 1997 I'm trying to figure out how to remove the heat rejection mirror as requested by David, it looks like it might be removable from the front of the instrument after removing the mechanized cover assembly, but I'm trying to find out if there is another way. Used Kill to stop. CHIP COMMENT: Wed May 28 22:46:56 GMT 1997 Finished testing the intensity of the center of the image of the sun using the "dv" application before removing the HR filter at the front of the instrument, after it was removed, then again after I installed it again. Had to remove the HR and Prefilter assembly in order to get at the HR filter. Before the removal I had a value of 305 at x=776 and y=508, after I removed the HR filter the image shifted to the right on the screen and I was getting a value of 402 at x=1058 and y=516, then after I re-installed the HR filter I got a value of 300 at x=782 and y=498 and the image was shifted back and centered on the screen. All readings were made with a camera exposure of 30 msec. I guess it looks unlikely that the HR filter is degraded since it looks like it is still within light loss specs?
