**LOW-L PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 16:43:52 GMT 1999
L00619 was found popped out of drive #1 this morning, around 2/3 full.
Reset time and date and restarted lowl program, data writing to L00620
in drive #0. Cleaned drive #1 and loaded L00621.
**MKIV PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 16:46:19 GMT 1999
KCC display is streaky (radial streaks). Not sure whether this is a
result of new program picked up this morning or the "usual" streaks
we see when the KCC flakes out. Stopping Patrol gracefully and parking
barrel with End Day then resetting the KCC.
Tue Aug 17 17:00:06 GMT 1999 MKIV Start Patrol
**PICS PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 17:01:23 GMT 1999
YCC monitor is off, stopping PICS and CHIP and resetting YCC after calibration
and hourly transfers pau.

**MKIV PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 17:19:14 GMT 1999
Display acting like there is high sky polarization at 1.0 and 0.5
gain setting. There are "bright" outer wedges at the east and west
quadrants. This is possibly a result of the program changes made by
David overnight???
**MKIV PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 17:45:23 GMT 1999
Bright wedges might have actually been bad sky??? They were gone in
last few scans at 0.5 gain. MKIII was dark in that region until
last few scans too.

Calibrations pau.
MKIV COMMENT: Tue Aug 17 18:32:12 GMT 1999
Re-doing calibration. First attempt was short for some reason according
to Alice.
**MKIV PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 18:56:28 GMT 1999
Changes made by David did not get rid of noise. Stopping MKIII/IV
and opening up MKIV to remove video cable from back of camera to see
if that is somehow injecting noise into the system.
**MKIV PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 19:01:36 GMT 1999
OK, video cable is unplugged, BNC is taped up and secured so it won't
touch any part of the camera during this test.

**MKIV PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 21:16:48 GMT 1999
Checked for discrepancies between jumper settings on new transformation
board and the old one. Emailed list of discrepancies to David for
analysis--there were discrepancies and these were purposely made
when we changed transformation boards.
**MKIV PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 21:36:36 GMT 1999
Swapped jumpers from 320 to 322 on the transformation board.
**MKIV PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 21:44:11 GMT 1999
Display disappeared with that jumper change.
**MKIV PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 21:45:37 GMT 1999
Restoring jumpers on 320 and 322.
**MKIV PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 21:46:44 GMT 1999
swapping switch settings on U2 and U3 to old settings.
**MKIV PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 21:49:05 GMT 1999
OK, done.
**MKIV PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 21:54:40 GMT 1999
I do not see any change in the display noise with that swap.
Resetting U2 and U3 switch settings back to where they were and
configuring straps on 408, 409, and 410 to the old configuration.
**MKIV PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 21:58:29 GMT 1999
OK, done. Display currently showing circular streaks. Let's see what happens
when the scan resets.

**MKIV PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 22:03:10 GMT 1999
Nope, streaks did not go away. I will restore straps one at a time.
**MKIV PROBLEM**: Tue Aug 17 22:05:04 GMT 1999
Removed 410 briefly and coronal display returned. Put 409 back and display
remained the same. strapped 410 again briefly (with 409 strapped) and
streaks reappeared. Strapped 408 alone and image appeared. Strapped 410
again, with 408 and streaks recurred. Removed strap from 410 and strapped 409,
the original configuration for the new board. display is back.
None of those swaps appeared to improve on the S/N in the displayed image.
