**MKIV PROBLEM**: Sun Sep 26 18:40:29 GMT 1999
The animated images look strange, the corona looks dark and featureless,
and there are short radial spikes near the limb. But the real time scans
look normal.

WEATHER COMMENT: Sun Sep 26 19:14:32 GMT 1999
Orographic clouds are starting to pass over.
**PSPT PROBLEM**: Sun Sep 26 19:28:32 GMT 1999
Guider couldn't lock onto the sun with this last sequence, probably due
to clouds at one point, for some reason this instrument has never been
able to lock onto the sun after clouds clear if it tried to while the
clouds were there. I exited and tried Restart.
**PSPT PROBLEM**: Sun Sep 26 19:40:19 GMT 1999
Restart didn't work, tried Run, still waiting for a response. Something
has changed in the programs, I can see the Obs menu for exiting and other
options scroll by on the screen when I try Restart, but it doesn't need
to and won't stop to let us enter an option anyway. The first Run
didn't work, it didn't get past the "taking three exposures" point,
I stopped it before it does its normal thing of trying 128 times and
giving up. Then I tried Run again.
**PSPT PROBLEM**: Sun Sep 26 19:53:52 GMT 1999
OK, that last Run seems to have worked, it is pointing again, just in time
for a new batch of orographic clouds. If it runs into guiding problems
again I'll have to try to close down for the day until I can find more
time to look into that problem.
PSPT COMMENT: Sun Sep 26 19:56:10 GMT 1999
On the good news side, I haven't noticed any unfocused images since
Randy's software changes involving giving the telescope more time to
lock on the sun before taking images, so hopefully that problem has
been reduced or eliminated.

**PSPT PROBLEM**: Sun Sep 26 20:14:49 GMT 1999
Was pointed to inside of dome yet the active mirror LED (green) was
lit indicating it was locked on the sun, and the program thought it was
too because it kept taking images. I opened the cover and there wasn't any sun on the beam splitter or either mirror, which makes sense. I manually
pointed to the sun and the program eventually started displaying images
of the sun.
COMMENT: Sun Sep 26 20:37:28 GMT 1999
Extended the dome slot.
