More polarization darkening early in the day. Appears in roughly one area of the image so it is possible that it is not the sky conditions this time. Will ask Andy about emailing David and Kim about this to see if there is anything in the way at this time of day. Many images show 'shimmering rays' which are probably due to the spar being jiggled around as David and Kim work on it. The average image for the day contains these rays so I am placing this day in the poordata directory. Appended 4/26/99 I found out that the rays mentioned above are due to electronic noise in the instrument. Further, pixels 106-111 were saturated by a procedure known as Correct which sets the bias and gain for each diode. This prcedure was run on the MKIV instrument but it seemed to effect the MKIII as well. This noise and saturation continued throughtout the weekend. There is a data gap from 18:31-20:40 UT while work on MKIV is done. Tony
