COMMENT: Fri Apr 14 23:20:35 GMT 1995 At David's request I checked the MKIII occulter to see if it is dirty, which might cause the intensity problems noted on DOY 78, 83, 90, and 94. The occulter looked fairly clean, or uniformly slightly dirty. It would be necessary to remove the occulter to clean it and that looks like a major task that could cause more problems than it might cure. While working around the O1 guider detectors I lightly bumped a thin gauge wire and when I checked it closely it was broken. I'm not sure if I broke it since I hardly touched it but if it wasn't broken then it was surely damaged. Maybe this is what is causing the intensity problem, it was the white wire going to the west detector, I fixed it. Another possibility is that the O1 guider is reaching a limit and the occulting becomes inaccurate. I also did some network setup work and practiced with the xv program among other tasks.
