----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mauna Loa Solar Observatory Observer's Log ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tue Jul 30 16:55:27 GMT 1996 Year: 96 Doy: 212 Observer: koon WEATHER COMMENT: Tue Jul 30 16:55:33 GMT 1996 Medium to thick cirrostratus, wind=10 mph from the SSE, temp=43 F. Spar won't track yet due to clouds. Tue Jul 30 17:01:25 GMT 1996 dPMon Start Patrol COMMENT: Tue Jul 30 17:01:37 GMT 1996 Spar is tracking now, starting observations. Patrol CHIP COMMENT: Tue Jul 30 17:09:02 GMT 1996 Nice, good sized Active Region in the SouthEast. Same place David saw the filament channel and helmet streamer a few days ago. Also there appears to be a filament/prominence at PA=325, its neat to see the portion against the disk as a filament at the same time as the portion off the limb appears as a bright prominence, I've never seen both on one image like this before, a definite advantage of this helium line. DPMON COMMENT: Tue Jul 30 19:22:32 GMT 1996 Patrol has stalled trying to send an image to Boulder, I wasn't able to log in completely to puu either, get message "NFS server veers not responding still trying". I'll try to kill the transfer tasks and see if Patrol will continue correctly. DPMON COMMENT: Tue Jul 30 19:33:52 GMT 1996 I killed the ftpxfer task and the program continued for a while, then tried to send image to Boulder again (I think). David is logged in so maybe he kill the ftpxfer task again, the Patrol seems to be running OK again. COMMENT: Tue Jul 30 19:52:06 GMT 1996 Extended dome slot. If the program hangs up like that we can kill the task called rcp to let the program continue without sending an image, we have to do it twice since it will hang up twice as it tries to send the two images.
