I found out from David that the diffuser won't open until the dust cover is open, so the dust cover may be the only problem. Also tried to physically open the cover at the front of the telescope but it springs shut. It didn't seem as though the clutch was slipping although I can hear the motor turning when I use the mouse to try to open the cover. I'll use the remote terminal up in the dome to try to figure out what is going on. DPMON COMMENT: Thu Sep 26 18:17:58 GMT 1996 Had to use Kill/Run to fix a stall with Program:Init Thu Sep 26 19:02:45 GMT 1996 dPMon Flat Thu Sep 26 19:03:21 GMT 1996 dPMon End Flat Thu Sep 26 19:37:21 GMT 1996 CHIP CHIP Start Patrol CHIP COMMENT: Thu Sep 26 19:36:04 GMT 1996 Finally fixed the problem with the dust cover, the clutch wasn't slipping but the whole clutch assembly was slipping on the motor output shaft. I tightened the setscrew and tested the motor and limit switches for both the dust cover and the diffuser, all is well now. That remote keyboard sure comes in handy! The O1 is pointed wrong, pointing back manually. Thu Sep 26 19:54:11 GMT 1996 dPMon End Patrol DPMON COMMENT: Thu Sep 26 19:54:21 GMT 1996 It looks like the limb images aren't getting to tape because the images are being taken before the occulting disk is in place, so I think the images going to tape look like highly underocculted images. Trying Kill/Run to see if that clears the timing problem.
