----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mauna Loa Solar Observatory Observer's Log ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sat Jan 25 17:45:54 GMT 1997 Year: 97 Doy: 025 Observer: koon WEATHER COMMENT: Sat Jan 25 17:45:58 GMT 1997 Thick cirrostratus overcast, wind=15 mph from the SW, temp=40 F. COMMENT: Sat Jan 25 17:48:34 GMT 1997 Will wait for clouds to clear before starting instruments. LOW-L COMMENT: Sat Jan 25 20:43:40 GMT 1997 MOF1Ent, MOF2Ent, West2, and MOF2Res fields all start out red in the morning. I noticed this yesterday also, during the day things warm up and eventually all fields turn green except the MOF2Res field. Yesterday I tried re-entering the wing filter temperature as 115.0 (w, then 115.0, then , during the message:sync cycle), but this didn't change anything, the MOF2Res field stays red and always reads 100.00 which is probably the lowest it will read. This morning I tried cycling the spar and rack power, restarted the program and waited to see if anything changed, nothing did, still had the same fields showing red. Now at 2054 only the MOF2Res, MOFEnt, and West2 fields remain red and eventually probably only the MOF2Res field will be red. The MOF2Res reads 100.00 even though the Wing2Err field shows -13.8, I would think that the MOF2Res would read 101.2 (115-13.8=101.2), but the Wing2Err is steadily approaching 0.0, I wonder if increasing the heater setpoint would help to warm things up and prvent the red fields? Its been could here lately. Will send a message to Steve to see what he thinks. WEATHER COMMENT: Sat Jan 25 21:10:31 GMT 1997 Still in thick clouds, no observing today. LOW-L COMMENT: Sat Jan 25 21:11:07 GMT 1997 Removed L00436 from drive #1 when I did troubleshooting mentioned above, installed L00438 in drive #1, restarted with L00437 in drive #0.
