Maybe this will help prevent local network problems (due to loose connections, etc.). COMMENT: Sat Jul 12 20:32:50 GMT 1997 I noticed that the GONG display had lots of red warnings so I went down to the shelter and found the same problem down there, it looks like the instrument stopped observing around 2256 ut yesterday, around same time as Lowl. Network is working OK. I didn't notice until now because I didn't update the display which showed one red warning from yesterday. LOW-L COMMENT: Sat Jul 12 20:35:28 GMT 1997 Note that the GONG instrument also crashed around 2256 ut yesterday. The clock looked OK this morning and so did the CHIP cooler, so it wasn't a complete blackout probably. WEATHER COMMENT: Sat Jul 12 21:15:55 GMT 1997 Looks like it will rain, closed the dome. Sat Jul 12 21:17:35 GMT 1997 CHIP ending tape WEATHER COMMENT: Sat Jul 12 21:47:28 GMT 1997 The thunderstorm is moving right over me. GONG guys still haven't called or sent e-mail, I might just head down and leave things as they are so Eric can get a better look at the status of the GONG instruments, I'd hate to delete some important clues to the problem while trying to restart everything. No data will be lost due to the bad weather anyway. I'll stop at the GONG shelter again and try calling those guys one more time.
