MKIII COMMENT: Sat Oct 11 19:32:31 GMT 1997 The data have been getting better since the top of the hour due to the cirrostratus clearing away. Sat Oct 11 20:02:13 GMT 1997 PICS Flat COMMENT: Sat Oct 11 20:02:45 GMT 1997 Something is wrong with the phone lines, I can't dial out on Tone with the 9350533 line, as if it were the 9619270 line. I can call 9619720 from 9350533 and the FAX will ring. If I call 9350533 from 9350533 I hear the line ringing, but not the phone since I am using it, as if it were a different line. When I pick up 9619270 I can't get a dial tone. I've checked the cables and connections up here and they seem OK. I will go down to NOAA to see what I can find at their Network Interface. COMMENT: Sat Oct 11 20:42:57 GMT 1997 The wiring looks OK on the interface terminal strip down at NOAA for both of our phone lines, I couldn't find the equipment needed to try out the lines from down there to try to eliminate the cable between here and there as a suspect. The voltage for the Fax line seems very low, and the FAX works on the 9350533 line. COMMENT: Sat Oct 11 21:00:18 GMT 1997 I called in a trouble report to the Phone company, the problems should be fixed by 8 pm today. They said that their records show 9350533 as a Pulse line, strange. I'll see how things are working tomorrow. Until this is fixed we are not receiving incoming calls (I tested this with the phone company guy), and we can only call out using the Pulse setting on the phone. WEATHER COMMENT: Sat Oct 11 21:05:44 GMT 1997 Thick orographic clouds are moving in. MKIII COMMENT: Sat Oct 11 21:09:08 GMT 1997 The tape isn't being written to the bottom two LEDs on the drive are always on and the Write field on the KCP is always green, as if the drive is constantly being written to. The messages on the Akamai window stopped around 2011 ut, probably when this problem started, I wil copy and send them to David anyway. MKIII COMMENT: Sat Oct 11 21:13:43 GMT 1997 >From the giflist I can see that the first scan after the calibration was at 2011, so the data weren't being written after the cal, this happened before.
