The tape drive appears offline to the computer. I rebooted the PC and the Sparcstation. Tried using Obs to get data to tape but when I exited it tried to move the dome though the dome was already in the stowed posiiton. Finally got things under control by moving dome to Home position before running Obs then selecting "e" to exit and write files to tape, then the dome was moved to the correct Stowed position. PSPT COMMENT: Thu Apr 2 23:24:35 GMT 1998 I tried to send info to Haosheng and Eric about getting the dome situation fixed but I can't get through on the network now, what a day. PSPT COMMENT: Thu Apr 2 23:26:11 GMT 1998 I forgot to mention that before running Obs again I reset the PC so it would stop trying to move the dome, then I plugged the computer control cable back into the dome drive box after moving the dome to the Home position, then Obs, etcetera. We really need a better way to stop the PC from trying to move the dome when it loses its mind, but a reset is better than nothing.
