Installed it onto the rotor assembly and replaced the old rotor assembly in the spare stator housing. We now have a working spare. I attempted to lubricate the "permanently" lubricated removed bearing with moly-oil used for tapping as it is a high temp oil. If I can get the excess drained out so that it does not ooze, we may have a spare bearing to use in a pinch. PICS COMMENT: Mon Apr 20 19:54:35 GMT 1998 Checked out PICS optics to see if I could determine what might be causing the apparent vignetting or reflection to the west of image. Unless optics were originally grossly misaligned, the moveable stages go to the designated stops each time. I could not get enough light down the telescope to see the actual beam to determine if any spill was reflecting off an edge. Optical elements look OK, no separation or smudges that might scatter light. Blew some dust off HR filter. COMMENT: Mon Apr 20 19:59:29 GMT 1998 Going down to GONG to do weekly PM. Still in heavy cirrus. COMMENT: Mon Apr 20 20:52:03 GMT 1998 Back from GONG. There was an exabyte problem.
