WEATHER COMMENT: Thu May 7 17:07:15 GMT 1998 There's some thick altocumulus clouds up there, the spar can't guide on the sun yet. MKIII COMMENT: Thu May 7 17:38:13 GMT 1998 Will wait for clouds to clear before starting this. PSPT COMMENT: Thu May 7 17:38:31 GMT 1998 I need to work with Haosheng on calibrating some things after changing the dec axis limit switch activator position yesterday, we weren't able to finish it yesterday. The old familiar graphic rectangles on the screen. I removed L00513 from temp drive #1 (which was being used when crash occurred) and cleaned the drive since the cleaning LEDs were blinking, then installed L00515 in that drive and cycled the power to the computer to restart observations. WEATHER COMMENT: Thu May 7 18:54:04 GMT 1998 Clouds have cleared temporarily. Also recalibrated the pointing system (ephemcal?). PSPT COMMENT: Thu May 7 22:21:45 GMT 1998 Tested pointing by doing a Run, it appears the guider still won't lock in declination but it doesn't look like the limit switch is activated. Will try again. PSPT COMMENT: Thu May 7 22:25:54 GMT 1998 I tried Restart, the cap was closed while the program was trying to lock on the sun. Quit and tried Run again. Hopefully it will be OK on a sunnier day, we'll have to find that out before trying anything else.
