----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mauna Loa Solar Observatory Observer's Log ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thu Nov 5 16:52:24 GMT 1998 Year: 98 Doy: 309 Observer: koon WEATHER COMMENT: Wed Nov 4 16:52:26 GMT 1998 Thick altocumulus overcast, wind=5 mph from the South, temp=47 F. COMMENT: Thu Nov 5 20:47:10 GMT 1998 I somehow lost the log for today after rebooting the Nahenahe computer to reconfigure for the new disk drive. I copied and edited yesterday's log to get the weather comment, I'll try to sum things up for today from memory, luckily it isn't a busy day log-wise. I was careful to juggle the 98309 and 98309.tmp files so that I could keep adding comments to one log file, that worked when I first cycled the power to Nahenahe to install the new disk drive but didn't work when I did the reboot. Oh well. MKIV COMMENT: Thu Nov 5 20:51:36 GMT 1998 Installed the new 2GB hard disk drive for the MKIV data on Nahenahe. Vic set it up as /local/e. I checked and was able to access it, so we are ready to go. WEATHER COMMENT: Thu Nov 5 20:53:34 GMT 1998 The weather has been bad all day, no observing due to clouds. MKIV COMMENT: Thu Nov 5 21:10:23 GMT 1998 Also, after David's changes, we can now logout normally after exiting the observing program. The unnecessary processes are now being killed as needed.
