COMMENT: Thu Nov 12 17:19:03 GMT 1998 Spar was a little top heavy in RA, I removed a small weight from the back and a larger weight from the front. **LOW-L PROBLEM**: Thu Nov 12 17:46:15 GMT 1998 Program showed that time was 1 hour ahead, no images on screen, instrument was pointing ahead. Stopped observations, removed L00555 from drive #1 and installed L00557. Probably no data on L00555 since it was started yesterday when the weather was cloudy, will mail tape anyway. Cycled power to the PC, the program came up with the correct time and images were on the screen as usual. Focusing is needed. Clouds may have passed by to cause the initial problem but it wouldn't reacquire the sun when the sky was clear. Haosheng, nice try but I guess your modification doesn't point the telescope close enough to the sun after clouds to allow the guider to lock on the sun. I exited IDL and tried Restart but that just gave the same symptoms with QSUM=0. I closed the dust cap from the PC and then used Run, but it stalled trying to take the 3 test exposures (timeout counter). So I exited IDL again and tried Run again, this time it worked for a while but got stalled initializing the Focus, it couldn't clear the event and move on. I tried a Restart and the telescope started running away pointing to the West. I cycled the PC power to get the runaway to stop, then tried Run again. **PSPT PROBLEM**: Thu Nov 12 22:00:32 GMT 1998 After the last try at Run the program got stalled with timeout counting like before. So I stopped for the day since orographic clouds started moving in. I had to use Obs to get to a point where I could exit, when I exited the program tried to point the telescope more to the West and hit the limit. I had to loosen the RA clutch and hand point the telescope near the stow position. 04:53 GMT 1998 CHIP End Water Thu Nov 12 22:05:18 GMT 1998 MKIII End Patrol WEATHER COMMENT: Thu Nov 12 22:05:41 GMT 1998 Thick orographic clouds have moved over, stopping observations. I tried bringing up another Patrol and exiting again because that has worked for this problem in the past, it didn't work this time. I clicked on End Tape and then used Kill after the tape popped out.
