Reassembled motor and placed it back in system. This quieted the beast down, it is running smoothely again. This may again be only temporary as bearing may be one of those permanently lubricated ones an irrepairable. If this occurs again in a short time, I suggest we replace the rotor assembly with that of the spare in the black parts cabinet by the microwave. This will eliminate having to rewire the motor to the MKIII. MKIII COMMENT: Fri Feb 13 18:43:04 GMT 1998 *** Recycling H01738, discarding H01739 *** COMMENT: Fri Feb 13 18:49:17 GMT 1998 Due to preoccupation with MKIII problem, I forgot to turn on the automatic dome rotator. Checking things out and will try calibration again. MKIII COMMENT: Fri Feb 13 19:16:42 GMT 1998 Checked shutter and opal, they were both all the way out. Exercised opal manually, it went in and out OK. Shutter did not go all the way in on first manual In command, it went all the way out with manual Out command, and went all the way in with second In command. Took both out manually, witt retry calibration. Fri Feb 13 19:19:12 GMT 1998 MKIII Start Cal MKIII COMMENT: Fri Feb 13 19:34:32 GMT 1998 Dark looked better this time.
