----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mauna Loa Solar Observatory Observer's Log ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fri Jan 8 17:36:12 GMT 1999 Year: 99 Doy: 008 Observer: yasukawa WEATHER COMMENT: Fri Jan 8 17:37:46 GMT 1999 Heavy altocumulus and cirrus overcast, no wind. No observations at this time. **LOW-L PROBLEM**: Fri Jan 8 17:38:24 GMT 1999 Tape in drive 0 was popping in and out, files at 0. Popped tape out and cleaned both drives. Removed L00567, loaded L00568 into drive 0 and L00569 into drive 1. Tried warm reboot to get nominal screen colors back but that did not work. Checked around and found the monitor cable was loose. I guess it was not secured the last time the monitor was removed for MKIV tests. One or more of the RGB lines were probably open causing the wrong colors to display. Normal color resumed as soon as I seated the connector properly. Secured the hold-down screws. Did a warm reboot and LOWL started up with new tape -- in heavy clouds. Time and date correct. Fri Jan 8 17:44:19 GMT 1999 CHIP Startup--Initializing new tape **PICS PROBLEM**: Fri Jan 8 18:06:53 GMT 1999 Replaced blown fuse in SIEMENS powerline filter and replaced unit into Halle temperature controller. Fri Jan 8 19:49:43 GMT 1999 CHIP ending tape COMMENT: Fri Jan 8 19:50:09 GMT 1999 No data, overcast very thick. Sat-images indicate they will stick around. L00568 in drive 0.
