LOWL crashed with heliostat pointed to around 2PM. Restarted it with lowl command this morning. Also gong xterm waiting for login. Answering machine clock needed resetting (power interrupt signature). LOW-L COMMENT: Mon Jan 25 17:30:43 GMT 1999 LOWL time and date OK after startup. Repointed spar. **CHIP PROBLEM**: Mon Jan 25 18:35:33 GMT 1999 CHIP filter temp was low. Checked it out and the circulator temp indicator was at a wierd value. Fluid level was OK and there were no spills due to outage. Pressed stop and then reset buttons and temp. controller seemed to reset to some regular value. Waiting to see if that brings temperature back up. **CHIP PROBLEM**: Mon Jan 25 19:02:19 GMT 1999 Chip filter temperature slowly rising toward operating range. Video cable from CCD could be pressed in to snap position approximately 1/16" further. All other connections looked good. Reassembled camera and remounted it. Tested with Video command. I do not see shutter operating. **PICS PROBLEM**: Mon Jan 25 19:32:09 GMT 1999 Removed camera again for further inspection. Shutter is cycling. Problem may have been caused when I first tried to start Video, controller was off, something may have gotten lost in the program because of it. I did a warm boot -r on nene before bench test. That may have reset something. **CHIP PROBLEM**: Mon Jan 25 20:13:36 GMT 1999 Filter temperature overshooting on high side now. **PICS PROBLEM**: Mon Jan 25 20:23:31 GMT 1999 Buttomed up PICS. Running Video. Still no video image coming from Camera. Internal and external connections OK. Tried manual camera settings from GUI at various exposure settings and saw no change. I think something was hosed on the interface board or something got hosed during the repair. No video output. COMMENT: Mon Jan 25 20:53:11 GMT 1999 lost guiding. Insulating cover not on PICS yet so I added a small weight to rear of spar to compensate for now. Repointed. Mon Jan 25 21:00:49 GMT 1999 CHIP Bias **LOW-L PROBLEM**: Mon Jan 25 21:01:21 GMT 1999 Rats! In my preoccupation with the power outage recovery and PICS camera problem I forgot to swap tapes. L00575 is being overwritten. **CHIP PROBLEM**: Mon Jan 25 21:07:35 GMT 1999 CHIP temp in range. **PSPT PROBLEM**: Mon Jan 25 21:11:11 GMT 1999 PSPT images looked dark early this morning. They are OK now. Not sure whether it was caused by failing shutter--yes, another shutter problem, or just due to the power failure yesterday and the cold this morning. Image was dark but there was no gradient-type vignetting. GONG COMMENT: Mon Jan 25 21:14:16 GMT 1999 Going down to GONG to do the weekly PM. GONG COMMENT: Mon Jan 25 21:54:48 GMT 1999 Back from GONG.
