This was done in hopes of steadying the dec motion more and preventing the loss of dec tracking around noon. I haven't reset the dec guider yet today but may have to later if there was substantial slipping before my adjustments. The spar was fairly well balanced before I fine tuned the balance, so the loss of tracking may have been due to reaching the end of the dec guider range due to something else besides poor dec balance, maybe dec drive slippage due to a clutch friction weaker than needed to overcome the spar rotational inertia (even though it is balanced). If this doesn't cure the problem then maybe we could try resetting (recentering the range) the dec guider soon after we start guiding on the sun in the morning, then maybe there will be enough range to get through the day without losing dec tracking. **** EVENT COMMENT ****: Sun Feb 13 22:08:23 GMT 2000 CME in progress at PA=255.
