LOW-L COMMENT: Fri May 19 17:26:08 GMT 2000 LOWL is running fine, 42 files, and still writing to drive #0. Replacement MOF2 cell has arrived along with a spare cell. I will wait for CME to stabilize before attempting to replace the bad MOF2 cell. **** EVENT COMMENT ****: Fri May 19 17:33:09 GMT 2000 Possibly another CME in northwest. Background brightness is changing too, so it might be a seeing thing. **** EVENT COMMENT ****: Fri May 19 17:43:35 GMT 2000 NW "event" looking more like a seeing anomaly than a CME. Ending L00709. COMMENT: Fri May 19 19:37:24 GMT 2000 Stopping to reconfigure dome shutter. Patrol COMMENT: Fri May 19 20:01:28 GMT 2000 Sorry, returned to MOF cell project while waiting for routines to stop, got carried away with a problem. reconfiguring the dome now. Fri May 19 20:05:26 GMT 2000 MKIV Start Patrol **LOW-L PROBLEM**: Fri May 19 21:54:29 GMT 2000 Done with replacement of MOF2 cell following KVS instructions. Cell allowed to warm up for 30 minutes and then turned program back on. Changed MOF2 temperature to 110.0 degrees C. at this time. Since it is late in the day and cells are still not at temperature, I will leave it running overnight, rather than for the next hour. If Boulder really wants a one-hour only tape, Darryl can run one tomorrow, when the temperature will presumeably have stabilized. Sending email so Boulder can send instructions for internet transfer of lowl test tape. PICS Start Patrol **PICS PROBLEM**: Fri May 19 22:10:05 GMT 2000 PICS stalled at Init after dome reconfiguration so it was not taking data all the while until just now. I was busy with LOWL. Cancelled Wait. Program started up. Fri May 19 22:52:16 GMT 2000 PICS End Patrol **LOW-L PROBLEM**: Fri May 19 22:52:36 GMT 2000 CHANGE OF PLAN Just adjusted MOF2 setpoint at controller inside electronics bay from 140.0 to 110.0. Change done at PC only changes the number on the display, doesn't do anything to controller. Once that settles, we can take a look at the image to see if MOF1 needs adjustment. I think that one can be changed via computer. Kim will update instructions on how to do that. Change in plan: We will leave the tape running overnight. If image looks good tomorrow morning, Darryl will unload L00710 from drive #0 and leave it on the OCP desk for transfer Monday morning. If image looks bad, we will leave tape in until we can tweak the temperatures. Once we get a good image, we will either transfer that data tape or observer will make a special 1-hour tape for transfer as per Boulder's instruction. **CHIP PROBLEM**: Fri May 19 23:02:49 GMT 2000 I am seeing tape i/o errors. I will quit and clean drive before loading next tape. **PSPT PROBLEM**: Fri May 19 23:24:36 GMT 2000 PSPT ran until the 22:52 shutdown time but failed to complete shutdown. GUI is unresponsive, ABORT does nothing, Shutdown does nothing. Spar is still tracking sun and cap is open. It is not taking data. Message on IDL window is as follows: There is a syntax error at pspt_shutdown.pro Line 73 Attempt to call undefined procedure/function: 'PSPT_SHUTDOWN". Execution halted at PSPT_DAILY_OBS_EVENT 210 pspt_daily_obs_event.pro WIDGET_PROCESS_EVENTS Nothing seemed to work so I manually closed the cap from the PC, pointed the spar to shutdown position facing south of straight up, did an init sys at the PC and turned things off. Got rid of new, unresponsive gui with Exit in the IDL window. **LOW-L PROBLEM**: Fri May 19 23:42:00 GMT 2000 Well, as if all the other fires weren't enough, lowl did a graphics crash. Reset PC and restarting. **CHIP PROBLEM**: Fri May 19 23:48:56 GMT 2000 Killed processes and closed diffuser and cap with ycc control. Cleaned drive, loaded new tape.
