----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mauna Loa Solar Observatory Observer's Log ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mon Jul 2 16:21:24 GMT 2001 Year: 01 Doy: 183 Observer: yasukawa WEATHER COMMENT: Mon Jul 2 16:21:42 GMT 2001 Cool, in thick altocumulus and cirrus overcast, southeast wind. Standing by on starting up, clouds too thick to guide. **ECHO PROBLEM**: Mon Jul 2 17:06:20 GMT 2001 Looks like ECHO crashed sometime over the weekend, possibly during the time that possible electrical glitches took out GONG and our answering machine. Noticed heliostat was pointing west of zenith. Quit program and restarted it. There may not be enough sunshine for a while to acquire an image to guide on. WEATHER COMMENT: Mon Jul 2 17:10:21 GMT 2001 Clouds are thinning a bit, opened up dome and pointed spar. Guiding is still very marginal. WEATHER COMMENT: Mon Jul 2 17:51:34 GMT 2001 According to a NOAA visiting scientist, there have been electrical storms here the last three days with hail/sleet the last two afternoons. This is probably what took out the ECHO and other systems. A NEW TAPE HAS BEEN PUT INTO KAIEE DLT DRIVE, Mon Jul 2 18:42:36 GMT 2001 **ECHO PROBLEM**: Mon Jul 2 19:10:05 GMT 2001 ECHO images now correctly centered.
