MKIV COMMENT: Thu Feb 7 17:37:18 GMT 2002 I'm not seeing an unusually high signal like yesterday morning even though I used the heating pad over the trough last night. The corona doesn't look well defined in the scans either. There are 2 different sides to the heating pad, both get warm but one side has a foam pad inside it. I put the foam pad side on the outside yesterday thinking that would help to hold heat in, but I'll try it with the pad toward the trough today - maybe that helps to conduct the heat inside the trough. Got a message from Alice saying to restart. Messages on Sparc say "sun is too low... go back to bed", seriously. Avoided temptation to go back to bed. Found weird characters on PC screen and it didn't respond to pressing "Enter" key. Killed runPspt.pro, rebooted PC, tried to restart. When starting again the dome pointed too far West, the telescope followed at a quick rate, the PC had the same weird characters, the Sparc showed "centering image" and the "sun too low..." messages again.
