I had to move the telephoto lens toward the Quadcell slightly to get the fast mirror to work correctly, I marked the previous position with metal tape. There is a sliding lock that also helps to keep the lens in position and I moved that too. The telephoto adjustment has sometimes not given enough adjustment to quiet the mirror oscillations, and lately this has been happening so often that we weren't making use of the fast mirror and often didn't have the image centered. At first it looked like software was the only cause because I couldn't catch the mirror oscillating when the error messages said it was. But now that Alice has refined the software so much and maybe partly because the problem was happening more often I was able to catch it oscillating and adjust it while it was oscillating. This should give much improvement to the image centering before data sequences, and hopefully will also improve the data.
