Closed domes, paused instruments. COMMENT: Fri Jan 30 22:05:26 GMT 2004 Nelson and Tom from Goddard have arrived, we unpacked instrument and mounted it on the spar. COMMENT: Fri Jan 30 23:22:26 GMT 2004 Hooked up cables and covered spar with tarp just before the weather moved in. We decided to wrap the spar with tarp and tie things down rather than revisiting the tent structure because of the wild weather and high winds that we have been experiencing up here in the last couple of weeks. Weather systems are still in the vicinity. COMMENT: Sat Jan 31 01:00:55 GMT 2004 Setup a guest login for the Goddard crew on the new laptop. login: guest no password crew is having problems configuring their network on their SERTS computer. We've tried changing to local IP address (132.160.99.20 temp) and changing all of the DNS servers, gateways, netmasks, etc. but have not been able to connect to internet over our network using TCP/IP protocol. They have a call into Bill Thompson for help. WEATHER COMMENT: Sat Jan 31 01:07:20 GMT 2004 Completely socked in. Shutting down all instruments. Will work with Nelson & Tom on network problem. JPL asked for assistance in moving something "when they get up here" from Kona (called at 2300 UT), still waiting for them to arrive. Late insert **** 01:52 UT Sat Jan 31 GMT 2004 *** Found internet problem. Both ethernet cables the Goddard crew brought out were faulty. I got one of our spare cables that was long enough to reach from the switch to their computer, tested it with the laptop, tested their cables, and got laptop to work with our cable... did not work with either of their cables. Using the replacement, they now have internet connection.
