David suggested trying the filters backwards in th CaK position of the filter wheel so the images can be checked at Boulder, maybe it's possible to leave the filters mounted that way. So I'll start the PSPT observing with the 0.1 CaK filter in the CaK position on the filter wheel for now, I will have removed the normal CaK filter and will take off the ND filters to mount on the new 0.25 CaK filter which I'll test later. After these test images are taken and examined Boulder will let us know whether to send back the 3 new filters for remounting. At the end of the testing I'll leave the CaK 0.1 filter at the 4600 position on the filter wheel, and the CaK +0.125 0.1 filter will be at the -200 position in the filter wheel, currently these 2 positions aren't being used by any filters. WEATHER COMMENT: Thu Feb 26 21:39:57 GMT 2004 Getting medium cirrostratus overcast. MKIV COMMENT: Thu Feb 26 21:40:27 GMT 2004 Pausing due to clouds. PSPT COMMENT: Thu Feb 26 21:40:59 GMT 2004 Plans have changed with filter tests. The filters won't fit into the filter wheel due to the edges of the filter and ring assembly protruding from the filter holder and interfering with the filter wheel. I talked it over with David and will send the filters back for remounting. If he removes the filter and ring assemblies and flips them over and remounts it then the filters will face the right way and the filter and ring assembly will fit within the holder while tilted - without protruding anywhere.
