I cycled power to workstation and Data and Instrument computers as Gongops requested. Before that I checked and saw that the red Fault LEDs on the DAS modules were lit and the camera supply green LED was lit, this is just like the problem I saw on Sunday morning, complete with question marks for date and time. While I had the Data and Instrument computers off I checked the camera cable wrapup mechanism thoroughly, on their last PM trip Gongops replaced the multicolored ribbon cables to the camera with heavier gauge cables to reduce ground problems according to Sang. So these stiffer cables cause more tension in the wrapup, It could be that the motor for the camera side spool is not working as well as before due to a change in load torque due to the new cables. When the cable is almost totally wrapped up on the camera side spool there is a lot of tension to overcome to drive to the limit switch, so I loosened the cable clamp and fed in about 2 to 3 more inches of cable, that relieved the tension noticeably. The limit switches for the camera rotation look, sound, and feel right, but I didn't check the electrical switching - they look well installed and hefty so I really doubt they are bad. I checked all the pins of all the connectors at the optical table side of the camera cables and they all looked good, I could only check the seating of the connections to the camera interface board due to the way they are installed - these could be checked for bent pins if the problem persists, that would take some extra time to remove the board first. ___end___ WEATHER COMMENT: Tue Mar 29 23:48:42 GMT 2005 Still have a light fog coming from the East, I feel precipitation whenever I go out and check, it is light but constantly there. ___end___ Wed Mar 30 00:40:52 GMT 2005 MkIV
