Both plate holders could slip on their axles so I tightened the setscrews after aligning the plates to the IN stop, then I put some loctite on the setscrews. The IN limit switch is relatively sticky due to it's design (it's a metal shaft that slides up and down against a switch), so I lightly lubed the metal shaft. The clutch was too loose so there wasn't enough torque getting through to the end of the upper tiltplate to activate the switch, I tightened the clutch by loosening the setscrew then rotated the clutch plate a little then tightened the tiny setscrew again - be careful with that or it will get stripped and you'll have to pull the entire tiltplate assembly to fix it. I recommend replacing that setscrew with a good capscrew if there is enough time the next time we have to adjust that clutch - years from now probably. The tiltplates are in that enlarged diameter section of the telescope down near the rotating barrel, there are angle marks on the section. To do this job safely you need to remove the small sections of tube just above and just below the tiltplate section, 2 screws in the top section, 1 screw in the bottom section then the lower part of that section screws up into the upper half to give enough clearance to remove that section. Put paper towels or something similar over the open tube below the tiltplates to keep dust and other things from falling into the lower telescope. ___end___ WEATHER COMMENT: Mon Jun 26 01:59:22 GMT 2006 Still have thick cloud cover with a little fog. ___end___ Mon Jun 26 02:10:48 GMT 2006 MkIV 16_49.rawmk4 17_51.rawmk4 19_04.rawmk4 20_10.rawmk4 21_12.rawmk4 16_52.rawmk4 17_54.rawmk4 19_07.rawmk4 20_13.rawmk4 21_15.rawmk4 16_55.rawmk4 17_57.rawmk4 19_10.rawmk4 20_16.rawmk4 21_17.rawmk4 16_58.rawmk4 18_00.rawmk4 19_13.rawmk4 20_19.rawmk4 21_20.rawmk4 17_01.rawmk4 18_03.rawmk4 19_16.rawmk4 20_22.rawmk4 21_23.rawmk4 17_04.rawmk4 18_06.rawmk4 19_19.rawmk4 20_25.rawmk4 21_26.rawmk4 17_07.rawmk4 18_09.rawmk4 19_22.rawmk4 20_28.rawmk4 21_29.rawmk4 17_10.rawmk4 18_12.rawmk4 19_25.rawmk4 20_30.rawmk4 21_32.rawmk4 17_13.rawmk4 18_15.rawmk4 19_28.rawmk4 20_33.rawmk4 21_35.rawmk4 17_16.rawmk4 18_18.rawmk4 19_31.rawmk4 20_36.rawmk4 21_38.rawmk4 17_19.rawmk4 18_21.rawmk4 19_34.rawmk4 20_39.rawmk4 21_41.rawmk4 17_22.rawmk4 18_24.rawmk4 19_37.rawmk4 20_42.rawmk4 21_44.rawmk4 17_25.rawmk4 18_26.rawmk4 19_40.rawmk4 20_45.rawmk4 21_47.rawmk4 17_28.rawmk4 18_29.rawmk4 19_46.rawmk4 20_48.rawmk4 21_50.rawmk4 17_31.rawmk4 18_32.rawmk4 19_49.rawmk4 20_51.rawmk4 c18_36.rawmk4 17_34.rawmk4 18_39.rawmk4 19_52.rawmk4 20_54.rawmk4 c18_42.rawmk4 17_37.rawmk4 18_46.rawmk4 19_55.rawmk4 20_57.rawmk4 c18_49.rawmk4 17_39.rawmk4 18_52.rawmk4 19_58.rawmk4 21_00.rawmk4 17_42.rawmk4 18_56.rawmk4 20_01.rawmk4 21_03.rawmk4 17_45.rawmk4 18_59.rawmk4 20_04.rawmk4 21_06.rawmk4 17_48.rawmk4 19_02.rawmk4 20_07.rawmk4 21_09.rawmk4
