Won't be watching obs as carefully as normal until I finish the PS work. ___end___ **MKIV PROBLEM**: Sun Jan 25 21:01:36 GMT 2009 Broght up new power supply and I'm installing it now. It requires a lot of disassembly, soldering, and reassembly. It is going well so far. ___end___ **MKIV PROBLEM**: Sun Jan 25 22:50:39 GMT 2009 After installing new power supply there is still no +5vdc, will investigate more after lunch. ___end___ COMMENT: Sun Jan 25 23:19:36 GMT 2009 Gave a quick tour to a couple of tourists. ___end___ **MKIV PROBLEM**: Sun Jan 25 23:19:53 GMT 2009 Knowing the power supply is good it must be that something it powers is shorted and pulling down the voltage to make it appears the power supply doesn't work, to verify the power supply was OK I partially mounted the mk4 power supplies assembly so that the AC power was going to the power supplies but the low voltage output connector on the assembly wasn't plugged in, that showed proper voltage at the output test points and LEDs. Will now try to find out what is shorting. ___end___ PSPT COMMENT: Sun Jan 25 23:47:35 GMT 2009 Re-homed the filter wheel. ___end___ **CHIP PROBLEM**: Sun Jan 25 23:47:50 GMT 2009 Kii tried to reboot itself and is stalled, will manually reboot it and restart obs. ___end___ **MKIV PROBLEM**: Sun Jan 25 23:49:06 GMT 2009 I didn't see anything obvious wrong in the camera trough. The old filter heater has been burnt out for a long time now but I removed the burnt out part to be sure it isn't somehow shorting. Continuing investigation. ___end___ Mon Jan 26 00:28:37 GMT 2009 CHIP Start Patrol **MKIV PROBLEM**: Mon Jan 26 01:24:06 GMT 2009 I still haven't isolated the problem. I searched all our previous logs and didn't find a similar problem in the past to refer to either. Eric and Allen will be in tomorrow to continue the troubleshooting, one last good problem for Eric to help solve :) I need to start cleaning up and putting things back in order, I also have to get a bunch more done on other things before we head to Boulder on Tuesday. I think we should check for shorts or failures of equipment supplied by that +5vdc leg of the power for Mk4. Since the mk4 Dalsa camera heater doesn't work anyway I'll turn off the AC power to its controller. ___end___ Mon Jan 26 02:16:21 GMT 2009 MkIV
