----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mauna Loa Solar Observatory Observer's Log ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sun May 17 16:59:17 GMT 2009 Year: 09 Doy: 137 Observer: koon WEATHER COMMENT: Sun May 17 16:59:19 GMT 2009 Light fog and low clouds, slowly clearing, wind=10mph from the SW, temp=46F. ___end___ WEATHER COMMENT: Sun May 17 19:28:06 GMT 2009 Fog has receded but still have low and high clouds blowing over, will try to get some data anyway. ___end___ Sun May 17 19:32:31 GMT 2009 CHIP Start Patrol Sun May 17 19:33:04 GMT 2009 PICS Start Patrol Sun May 17 20:35:41 GMT 2009 CHIP End Patrol Sun May 17 20:36:02 GMT 2009 PICS End Patrol **MKIV PROBLEM**: Sun May 17 20:28:23 GMT 2009 Tried failed camera hooked up to system without receiver chip at U35 on transformation board, got slightly different behavior, with all cables connected to the failed camera the 5 vdc power led on the power supply (mounted on spar) didn't go out, in the past one of the LEDs there for 5 vdc power would go out indicating something like the camera was loading the power supply too much possibly with a short circuit. I checked the analog output and didn't see any video signal come and go with impingement of light on the sensor, the output goes up to a steady state 3vdc as does the good camera but from there no light sensitive signal can be seen as it can on the good camera which continues up to about 5 vdc if aimed at a bright cloud. I was hoping I might see some kind of signal on the failed camera, but we still need to get it repaired to use it. When I just have the signal/power cable connected to the failed camera I see one of the 5 vdc LEDs is not lit, but with the data cable also connected both 5 vdc LEDs stay lit, however on the good camera both 5 vdc LEDs stay lit regardless of whether the signal/power is the only connected cable. ___end___ Sun May 17 20:42:50 GMT 2009 MKIV Start Patrol WEATHER COMMENT: Sun May 17 20:43:02 GMT 2009 low clouds and fog returning, paused instruments and closed domes. ___end___ Sun May 17 20:53:51 GMT 2009 MKIV Start Patrol Sun May 17 21:33:14 GMT 2009 MKIV Start Patrol Sun May 17 21:39:28 GMT 2009 MKIV End Patrol **MKIV PROBLEM**: Sun May 17 20:57:57 GMT 2009 Removed good MV200 board, installed old MV200 board, upon running Patrol the barrel runs to CCW limit like before and still no data shown on realtime display, verified this MV200 board doesn't work. Removed it and installed Digital input module from good MV200 board in it and tried it, it worked as well as the good board from what I see. So if we buy another Digital Input module we'd have a good spare MV200 board. ___end___ WEATHER COMMENT: Sun May 17 22:57:30 GMT 2009 Foggy ___end___ **MKIV PROBLEM**: Sun May 17 22:57:36 GMT 2009 I couldn't test the new MV200 board that came in Thursday or Friday from Solusys because the Digital Input connector is the wrong type. The board is in the box on the desk in front of Nahenahe. ___end___ Sun May 17 23:10:39 GMT 2009 MkIV 20_42.rawmk4 21_33.rawmk4 21_36.rawmk4
