Due to comming incliment weather I tried to command the dome to close, but in adverntently commanded it to open using the bottom limit switch. This caused the dome to completely open past the upper limit switch; and the shutter motor continued to drive. This stripped out the roll pin in the drive transmission and the motor ran until I found it about 15 minutes later. At time time this problem was discovered hail was just starting to come into the dome but due to the configuration of the spar and shutter the perciptation was mostly confined to CoMP and Mk4 tubes. Both of these now appear relativy dry. The dome was closed by using a series of straps to pull the dome shut from the ground. Unfortunatly this bent the rod that connects the bottom and top shutters together to allow access to both horizons. Fortuantly the rod seems fixable. The Dome is now shut, spar is parted and safe, and the instruments appear to have avoided moisture problemes. On Friday Darryl and I will rebuild the drive transmission and hopefully look fix the bottom shutter rod. Good greif... ___end___ Thu Jun 2 02:19:48 GMT 2011 MkIV 16_42.rawmk4 17_28.rawmk4 18_03.rawmk4 18_38.rawmk4 19_13.rawmk4 16_45.rawmk4 17_31.rawmk4 18_06.rawmk4 18_41.rawmk4 19_16.rawmk4 16_48.rawmk4 17_33.rawmk4 18_09.rawmk4 18_44.rawmk4 19_19.rawmk4 16_51.rawmk4 17_36.rawmk4 18_12.rawmk4 18_47.rawmk4 19_22.rawmk4 16_57.rawmk4 17_39.rawmk4 18_15.rawmk4 18_50.rawmk4 19_25.rawmk4 17_03.rawmk4 17_42.rawmk4 18_18.rawmk4 18_53.rawmk4 19_28.rawmk4 17_09.rawmk4 17_45.rawmk4 18_21.rawmk4 18_56.rawmk4 19_31.rawmk4 17_13.rawmk4 17_48.rawmk4 18_24.rawmk4 18_59.rawmk4 c16_54.rawmk4 17_16.rawmk4 17_51.rawmk4 18_26.rawmk4 19_02.rawmk4 c17_00.rawmk4 17_19.rawmk4 17_54.rawmk4 18_29.rawmk4 19_05.rawmk4 c17_06.rawmk4 17_22.rawmk4 17_57.rawmk4 18_32.rawmk4 19_08.rawmk4 17_25.rawmk4 18_00.rawmk4 18_35.rawmk4 19_10.rawmk4
