Idled everything in the main dome to reconfigure the dome and I noticed one of the wheels isn't in the guide and I can't release the bottom shutter. It looks as if the top part of the dome isn't down far enough for the hook to clear the bar. Huh...will try to trouble shoot. ___end___ **GENERAL PROBLEM COMMENT BY waters** : Sun Jul 6 21:02:58 GMT 2014 The wheel that is out of the guider is the bottom right, just above the bar that connects the lower shutter to rest of it. Tried to reseat it but the bottom bolt of the casing that holds the wheel wouldn't come off, the screw kept rolling and I couldn't get a good grip on it. Also, I couldn't get any leverage to take pressure off the wheel. Right now, the wheel is out of the guide but is wedged on the top part of the guide. I tried the dome (not very far) and it moves. But I don't feel confortable opening. Will try again to trouble shoot but I don't think we should open the dome until we get this sorted. ___end___ GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Sun Jul 6 21:20:33 GMT 2014 Cirrus has moved in. ___end___ GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Sun Jul 6 22:47:35 GMT 2014 With coaching from Ben, I was able to finally get the wheel unseated. I replaced it with one of the spares since it was just a bit longer than the previous one. After some elbow grease was applied, I was able to get the new wheel in and seating properly. While opening the dome the first time after the wheel install, the shutter stuttered more than usual. I lubed and greased the wheels and track as best as I could but I can't seem to get it out. It stutters as the bottom portion almost reaches the top. Anywho, the bottom part of the shutter now unhooks properly again. Keeping the dome closed as there are some clouds to the South that look a little low. ___end___ Mon Jul 7 00:12:17 GMT 2014: PSPT Abort Patrol Mon Jul 7 00:56:54 GMT 2014: PSPT Start Patrol GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Mon Jul 7 00:57:03 GMT 2014 Clouds have cleared a bit, still some cirrus but enough so that I can restart Pspt. ___end___ ****EVENT COMMENT BY waters**** : Mon Jul 7 01:15:06 GMT 2014 Lots of activity going on between PA 100-50, starting around 16:35 UT and still seems to be going on. Surges, a prominence forming and what looks like it releasing or collapsing at 21:30UT. Can be seen in Gong. ___end___ Mon Jul 7 01:21:45 GMT 2014: PSPT Abort Patrol PSPT COMMENT BY waters: Mon Jul 7 01:19:22 GMT 2014 Pspt seems to be shifting. The image that is being produced seems as if the telescope had been pulled so that the Sun has three trail images behind it and isn't centered (in the upper right hand corner of the screen). Then it tries to correct it self but still ends up with the trail and just off center. Don't think I'll have time to see if I got rid of it...sorry. ___end___ PSPT COMMENT BY waters: Mon Jul 7 01:28:42 GMT 2014 Pspt didn't park correctly. Manually homed it. ___end___
