Left the domes partially closed to help sheild the instruments from the wind. ___end___ GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Thu Jan 1 17:55:32 GMT 2015 Kcor temp is at 33.3C, will wait a little bit before starting up. ___end___ Thu Jan 01 17:57:36 GMT 2015 COMP Start Patrol Thu Jan 01 18:35:29 GMT 2015 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol Thu Jan 01 19:04:02 GMT 2015 KCOR End Patrol Thu Jan 01 19:04:03 GMT 2015 KCOR Start Calibration script: c:\kcor\mlso-calibration22deg.ini Thu Jan 01 19:20:07 GMT 2015 KCOR End Calibration Script Thu Jan 01 19:20:17 GMT 2015 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol Thu Jan 01 19:54:13 GMT 2015 KCOR End Patrol Thu Jan 01 19:55:27 GMT 2015 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Thu Jan 1 19:55:13 GMT 2015 Dome occulted Kcor and Comp. ___end___ Thu Jan 01 20:55:19 GMT 2015 KCOR End Patrol Thu Jan 01 20:55:31 GMT 2015 COMP End Patrol GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Thu Jan 1 20:59:13 GMT 2015 SGS adjusted, Comp didn't need any. Going to put the bottom part of the shutter down, hopefully it will help reduce the wind hitting the Spar as we're starting to see it more head on. ___end___ Thu Jan 01 21:08:15 GMT 2015 COMP Start Patrol Thu Jan 01 21:09:15 GMT 2015 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol Thu Jan 1 23:59:41 GMT 2015: PSPT Abort Patrol Fri Jan 02 00:06:01 GMT 2015 COMP End Patrol Fri Jan 02 00:06:01 GMT 2015 COMP Start Patrol Fri Jan 02 00:13:07 GMT 2015 KCOR End Patrol Fri Jan 02 00:13:31 GMT 2015 COMP End Patrol GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Thu Jan 1 23:45:25 GMT 2015 There seems to be some kind of ordor, smell coming from the South of the building. After going around the building and sniffing the air, I called Ben to see what I should do. He told me to shut everything down in Pspt to see is we could isolate where the smell maybe coming from, which included closing the dome. I ran through the end of day proceedor and went up to close the bottom shutter when I glanced at the dome rotation and noticed it smoking. I shut down the power and pulled the power cord from the wall. After taking a closer look at how the dome parked, it's nearly at home, just a bit more South-Southeast. Going to try and clear the air in the dome before closing the shutter. Oh the temp around the air of the dome rotation motor was at about 135F on the left right and top of the motor. The motor its self was around 225F. Anywho, what a way to start a New Year. ___end___ Fri Jan 02 00:35:04 GMT 2015 COMP Start Patrol GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Fri Jan 2 00:27:56 GMT 2015 Adjusted SGS and raised the bottom shutter. We'll see how the spar handles without the sheild. Adjusted Comp. ___end___ Fri Jan 02 00:44:37 GMT 2015 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Fri Jan 2 00:38:23 GMT 2015 It looks like we may be hitting the wind limit. Will keep and eye on Kcor for any shakes. Also, the MC4u Controller GUI isn't responding very well again. I'll restart the computer when I get the chance. ___end___ **PSPT PROBLEM COMMENT BY waters** : Fri Jan 2 00:56:08 GMT 2015 TO summerize: Smelled something strange in building; found it wass strongest in the Pspt Dome area. Consulted with Ben to shut down Pspt in which during that process, noticed the pspt dome rotation motor was smoking. Commenced to uplug the motor from power supply. The air to the left, right and above the motor was at about 135F, while the motor itself was at about 225F. Now the temp has dropped to almost the temperature of the rest of the room, about 58F. Will not operate Pspt in anyway till the motor is assessed and everything is right again. ___end___ Fri Jan 02 01:08:38 GMT 2015 KCOR End Patrol Fri Jan 02 01:09:27 GMT 2015 COMP End Patrol GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY waters: Fri Jan 2 01:09:39 GMT 2015 Bands of thick cirrus are coming in from the West, Comp and Kcor idled. MC4U controller GUI wouldn't respond fast enough. Got lucky that the first band passed when it decided to close the lens cover. Restarting Kcor computer now. ___end___ KCOR COMMENT BY waters: Fri Jan 2 01:25:33 GMT 2015 Restarting Kcor computer fixed the MC4U controller GUI. Took it through its paces and it responded immediately. ' ___end___
