----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mauna Loa Solar Observatory Observer's Log ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sat Aug 15 20:58:26 GMT 2015 Year: 15 Doy: 227 Observer: stueben GENERAL OBSERVATORY COMMENT BY stueben: Sat Aug 15 20:58:41 GMT 2015 Just now able to start the log for the day, as mlsoserver took 4+ hours to do all its startup checks. Ben shutdown the computer systems last night. I don't favor shutting down the computers except in extreme cases - big winter storm, hurricane - isn't that why we have the fancy powerline surge suppression and UPSes, so we can ride out small outages and powerline transients?? ___end___ WEATHER COMMENT: stueben: Sat Aug 15 21:06:11 GMT 2015 Thin/moderate cirrus when I arrived this morning now overcast with light rain, light southern breeze, temp 48F. ___end___ **GENERAL PROBLEM COMMENT BY stueben** : Sat Aug 15 21:14:16 GMT 2015 All systems are now powered up and seem OK. Mlsosever is done with its checks. Pspt pc would not boot when I arrived, but after it warmed up it booted OK. Gong is unstowed (historically gong has only been stowed for winter storms). ___end___ WEATHER COMMENT: stueben: Sun Aug 16 01:20:45 GMT 2015 No longer raining but still cloudy. ___end___
