And refocused the T camera. ___end___ Mon Jun 22 23:34:45 GMT 2015 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol KCOR COMMENT BY berkey: Mon Jun 22 23:41:38 GMT 2015 After installing the camera link cables I booted up the system in the following order: Up stairs fiber link extender Camera R Camera T Down stairs fiber link extender Computer Then went attempted to start socketcam (via the normal observing program) as soon as everything had loaded. This gave a Board 1 error. So I then shut down everything again and brought it back up in the same order, but instead ran focus. This gave blank images and no data with a labview error suggesting bad/no handshake with the frame grabber. I then shutdown the focus code and restarted this time we got no error message and started seeing streaming data. After shutting focus down gracefully, I was able to start socketcam with no issues. Since I started things the same way both times I think socketcam would have run the first time if I attempted to use focus (or some other free running code first). It really seems to be on reboot the system wants/needs to do one connect/disconnect cycle with the framegrabber before things can work properly. Or maybe the above order is not correct perhaps the computer needs to be running and see the downstairs frame grabber start up to be in the right state; this better lines up with the suggested camera/camera-link start up order from Brandon. ___end___ ****EVENT COMMENT BY berkey**** : Tue Jun 23 00:02:41 GMT 2015 Bright filamentary structure seen near PA330 between 22:30 UT when I stopped to refocus and swap camera link cables and 01:53UT when we restarted observations. I think the motor is slipping under the weight of the stage. Typically we see this problem in the other direction in the morning when the motor cannot over come the weight in the positive direction.
