Its been a kind of crummy second 1/2 of the day for observing. In and out of cirrus since about 11am.  Then around 2pm I notice a large amound of aerosols in the kcor alignment images. (Streaming video from the detectors).     I took a video of the screen to share with others.  

with the quanity of aersols crossing the field in 3 seconds I image a 15 second sum will just be streaks and smugges.  This is not a common way for me to run the instrument and cirrus moved in before I could start data gathering;  So I dont know how what  I see in the alignment images corralates to the the fuzzy kcor images we typically see in the afternoons.

Poking around with the test CoMP code during a few of the periods of heavy cirrus I think I was able to cut another 40msec/exposure off the over head for image handling.  :)  

I think I would like to see some of these changes moved to our operating code some time later this month.

Code has been revereted to the running version for operations tomorrow.

Dome motor was also slightly realgined to hopefully address Lisa's observation that the dome was getting stuck when moving clockwise while pointing in the west. 

Motor was slightly turned counter clockwise while looking down from above and the spring that pushes the pinion gear into the rack was tightend considerably.
