These were assumed to be from some issue with the paper lyot stop (Damage, movement, etc). So an inspection of the paper stop was preformed this morning before the start of observering, where there was no visible change to the condition of the stop. However it was noticed that the cloth shoud covering the aft-optics came loose on the north side and was no longer completely sheilding the optics. As part of general house keeping the shroud was reinstalled. Still assuming the paper stop was at issue, a new stop was built up; and made ready to install as soon as we saw the fringing; so we could confrim things got better after the installation. Supprisingly the fringes have not returned by 12:30pm hst, so I think we can now assume that the fringes were coming from light leaks realted to the loose shroud and probally not isues with the paper stop. To test this we will run for the rest of today and tomorrow in this current configuration. Then Wednesday the shroud will be removed at the start of observing, and we will run without the shroud for the day or until we see the fringes return. ___end___ Mon Mar 13 22:45:55 GMT 2017 KCOR End Calibration Script Mon Mar 13 22:46:13 GMT 2017 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol Mon Mar 13 22:46:14 GMT 2017 KCOR Start Synoptic Patrol Mon Mar 13 23:27:30 GMT 2017 KCOR End Patrol Mon Mar 13 23:27:45 GMT 2017 CoMP Paused for clouds GENERAL COMMENT BY berkey: Mon Mar 13 23:38:18 GMT 2017 Closing the dome for clouds. ___end___ Tue Mar 14 01:47:24 GMT 2017 CoMP Restarted from pause Tue Mar 14 01:47:24 GMT 2017 COMP End Patrol GENERAL COMMENT BY berkey: Tue Mar 14 01:50:14 GMT 2017 Had UCAR facilities out today for a site visit as part of the wrap up of the 2015 construction project.
