During the installtation another spring was added to the E-W stage. The new spring appears to have enought force to counteract the weight of gravity on the entire occulter assembly when we point to the east and everything hangs on the spring. The new PZA12 motor has about 10x more power to over come the new spring :) so this should give better control of the occulter/field stop in the afternoon. ___end___ Sat May 06 02:31:45 GMT 2017 COMP Start Patrol on cookbook: synoptic-00010.cbk CoMP COMMENT BY berkey: Sat May 06 02:33:44 GMT 2017 The new E-W controller appears to forget its location on power cycle. So all E-W position information should be taken to be a offset around zero not an absolute distance from zero. While we did have some run in with clouds, it actually helped us so we could get the new PZC200 controller and PZA12 actuator installed. Lots of areosols starting at 945 hst but they cleared up a bit this afternoon. ___end___
