The sky is beautifully clear, but Orographic clouds are forming on the western slope of Maunaloa. Wind is currently steady out of the east so hopefully it will keep the clouds at bay

The cloud that was obscuring the view of the Sun seemed to diminish so I attempted to continue running Kcor, but the sky is much, much to bright. The Cirrus clouds are increasing and are primarily in the direction of the Sun.

Looking at the displayed image of Kcor Synoptic, it appeared that the images became dim. I went to the observatory dome to verify where the dome shutter opening was positioned. Because the dome opening position sensor fell below the level of the dome ring it appears the dome was uncertain of its position. I put the dome movement controls in manual and centered the opening relative to the Kcor input opening. I left the controls in manual. In the future I will make a note of checking the dome shutter position as evening approaches to ensure that the opening is in the correct position at all times.

Other than a brief interlude with a passing, cloud we were able to observe from sunrise to sunset today. And I believe there was a CME too! Good Day on Maunaloa!!
